Annual Golf Tournament - The 11th Annual Golf Tournament will take place at the Green Hill Country Club in Quantico, Md., on Friday, June 15. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and coffee will be available. Tee time is at 9 a.m. using a Scramble format. This years tournament honors Greg and Joy Smith, a couple with true servants hearts and a blessing to St. Stephens UMC. Vacation Bible School - July 8-12 - lots of fun for the kids Talent Show & Ice Cream Social - Aug. 18 Church Social & Gospel Sing - Enjoy gospel music performed by the Homeland Singers and Covenant Ground.

St. Pauls UMC Hymn Sing St. Pauls UMC invites the community to a Hymn Sing at 6 p.m. on June 24. The featured group is Reunion, a local Southern Gospel group. Reunion is known for their tight harmony, enthusiastic message and love for the Lord. A love offering will be taken to support their ministry. St. Pauls UMC is located on 32827 Old Stage Road in Laurel.

Sandwich sale The Delmar Church of God of Prophecy, located on Route 13 and Dorothy Road, will hold a sandwich sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be oyster, crab cake, soft shell, cheese steak, and more as well as homemade ice cream and baked goods. Open Mic Christian Night Open Mic Christian Night will take place on Friday June 1 from 7-9 p.m. at Compassionate Shepherd Ministries. There will be a lot of good old time gospel music. Featured singers are Danita Robinson and Jack Andrews and local singers. Jim Dryden, Gloria Holland, Dean, Galen Queen, Connie and Allen, Ronnie Townsend and Brenda Griffith and other singers will also perform. There will be fun and surprises. Do you want to sing, then come on down and sing.You never know whos going to join us. The event takes place at 10771 N. Plaza Road in Laurel, across from the Food Lion Plaza. Admission and snacks are always free. A love offering will be taken. Come enjoy a night of uplifting praise music and friendship at our new larger location. Dr. Robert E. Douglas, Jr. is Pastor. Summer services resume The Board of Directors of the Old Christ Church League announces the resumption of regular summer services at Old Christ Church, Laurel. Services are held on the first Sunday of each month at 10 a.m., June through September: June 3, July 1, Aug. 5 and Sept. 2. Officiant is the Rev. Howard Backus. The order of worship is taken from a 19th century prayer book in use around the timethe church was built.Step back in time when you enter Old Christ Church; this wooden church is not electrified and is as it was in 1771.Throughthe open windows, enjoy the tranquility of the area - the trees, church yard and Chipmans Pond. A voluntary offering will betaken up for the preservation and restoration of Old Christ Church. All are welcome. For more information, call 536-1384.

Joyce Igo to perform at St. Pauls St. Pauls UMC, 32827 Old Stage Rd., Laurel, invites the community to hear JoyceIgo, a Southern Gospel artist and songwriter from West Virginia, on Saturday, June 9 from 10 a.m. to noon. Program will include Joyces music and testimony. Joyces country, down home Southern style leaves audiences laughing, shedding a few tears, and challenged to know and serve Jesus Christ. A love offering will be taken to support her ministry.

Heaven 4 Shore to perform Heaven 4 Shore of Oxford, Pa., will perform at the 11 a.m. service at Compassionate Shepherd Ministries, Sussex Highway, Laurel, on Sunday, June 3. The group is celebrating their 25th year in the music ministry.

Gospel singers and musicians wanted for open mic Open Mic Christian Night is actively searching for Gospel/Christian singers and Christian comedians on a regular basis to assist for our Open Mic Christian Night at Compassionate Shepherd Ministries in Laurel. Also looking for musicians who enjoy playing Gospel music. We already have a keyboard, bass, and rhythm guitar players. Maybe a lead, fiddler, steel guitar and drummer. We hold our Open Mic night the first Friday of every month starting in April - December. This is a great way to showcase your talents for various churches at one time.Our audience is a mixture of varied churches throughout the area. Father-Son/Brother-Brother Banquet The United Methodist Women of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, Bridgeville,will be sponsoring a Father-Son/Brother-Brother Banquet to celebrate men and the important role they play in our lives. The event will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday,June 9, in the Fellowship Hall at Union Church, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville. Special guest and emcee will be gospel comedian JReam.Cost is $25 for adults, $12.50 for ages 5-12; ages 4 and under are free but they must have a ticket. Deadline to purchase tickets is May 31. All You Can Eat Fish Fry is June 16 at Centenary UMC An All You Can Eat Fish Fry will take place from 4-6:30 p.m. on June 16 at the Centenary UMC in Laurel. The event, sponsored by the Friendly/Sunshine Class, costs $12 for adults, $5 for children 6-12, and is free for children under six years old. Carry-outs will be available.

Woodland UM Church celebrates 175 years The kickoff of the 175th birthday of for Woodland UM Church will take place on Sunday, June 17 at the 9 a.m/ worship service. Evangelist Thom Slaughter of Second Wind Ministries will deliver the Fathers Day message, and bring his music ministry. The service will be followed by a brunch. Everyone is welcome to this joyous celebration! Food contributions to the brunch are sincerely appreciated.

Higher Calling Ministries Womens Fellowship set for June 16 Higher Calling Ministries will hold a Womens Fellowship event on Saturday, June 16, at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center. Guest messengers include Evangelist Angela Dutton, Pastor Pamela Polk, Pastor Kathy Millner, Apostle Helena Bailey and First Lady Annette Dickerson. Fellowship colors are all white.
