Country Christmas Wheatley Methodist Protestant Church, Galestown, Md., will hold its annual celebration of Jesuss birth at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17. Join as we celebrate His coming amidst the setting of old fashioned oil lamps and candles, with the congregation singing traditional Christmas carols. The service is followed with the Christ Birthday Supper, a potluck meal provided by the congregation, in the adjacent Wheatley Community Hall. Founded in 1784, Wheatley Church is beginning its 234th year of continuous service in its original building. Regular worship services are held on the first, third, and fifth Sunday of each month at 9:30 a.m.

Open Mic Christian Night Compassionate Shepherd Ministries, 10771 N. Plaza Rd., Laurel, will hold Open Mic Christian Night from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15. Enjoy Hee Haw Night with some of your favorite characters and songs from Hee Haw like Minnie Pearl, Stringbean, Kenny Rogers and more. Enjoy old time gospel music, Christmas music and comedy. Stringbean will emcee. The evening will feature Jim Dryden, Dean, Galen Queen, Connie & Allen, Ronnie Messick and more. Everyone is welcome to come and sing. Donate a new or gently used 8 to 12 teddy bear or 12 doll baby that we can sanitize to hand out to area Alzheimers and nursing home patients during and after the holidays. A love offering will be taken. Free admission and free snacks. Come and enjoy a night of uplifting praise music and friendship. This will be the last event for the next few months. Christmas events at Woodland United Methodist Church The following Christmas events will take place at Woodland United Methodist Church: Christmas Cantata Emmanuel celebrating Heavens child will be presented by the Woodland Methodist Church choir on Dec. 17 at 9 a.m. The annual Christmas party with music, games, and refreshments and a visit from a special guest will take place on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. A Christmas Eve service will take place Dec. 24 at 8 p.m. with music and worship.

St. Marys Episcopal Church Christmas Eve Services St. Marys Episcopal Church, located at 2 N. Williams St. in Bridgeville, will hold Christmas Eve services called Oh Come Let Us Adore Him. Holy Eucharist will take place at 10:30 a.m., family service will be held at 7 p.m., and midnight service will begin at 11 p.m.

Christmas Cookie Walk is Dec. 17 Dont have time to bake for the holidays? Let the 2018 LNC Belize Mission Team come to your rescue! Attend our Christmas Cookie Walk on Sunday Dec. 17 from noon-2 p.m. in the Johnson Center at Laurel Nazarene Church, 100 Walnut St. in Laurel (next to Laurel Pizzeria).

Walk around the Johnson Center and browse the tables filled with cookies and other festive treats. Fill your container or containers with as many cookies as youd like. Lastly, we weigh your cookies and you pay $5 per pound. Enjoy your cookies or give them as gifts! All proceeds go to the 2018 Laurel Nazarene Church Belize Mission Trip.

A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage A Charlie Brown Christmas will be held on Dec. 15-16 at American Legion Post 19 in Laurel, located at 12168 Laurel Road. Admission. The show, presented by Bayview Baptist Ministries in Laurel, will feature two nights of wonder, music, live animals, and a cast of over 50 people presenting the greatest story ever told, the birth of Jesus. Advent, Christmas at St. Lukes St. Lukes Episcopal Church, on Front Street in Seaford, announces its schedule for Advent and Christmas. Advent, the season to listen and reflect, began Sunday, Dec. 3. St. Lukes welcomes you to each of our Advent and Christmas services. Exploring the Story of Christmas- Wednesday evenings during Advent, St. Lukes is offering a meal and a study looking more closely at a story we know well, perhaps seeing the meaning of Christmas with new eyes. Each program will start with a light meal of soup and bread at 6 p.m. in the Parish House, followed by study and meditation at 7 p.m. led by Pastor Marianne Ell. These programs will be held Dec. 20. Conleys UM Church Presents Hansens Christmas Play Conleys United Methodist Church in Angola, Delaware, will present Christmas Play by Gary Neal Hansen. This drama will use the very words of scripture to irresistibly draw the audience and participants into the dramatic sweep of the story of God entering into our world as the Christ-child. Performance times are Friday, Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m., Saturday Dec. 16 at 4 p.m., and Sunday Dec. 17 at 3 p.m. After presenting their outdoor Living Nativity for the last 16 years, this year the play will take place indoors at Conleys warm and spacious worship center. Admission is free, and there will be ample free parking. Before and after the presentation you can enjoy some Christmas music, and join the cast after the performance for refreshments in the fellowship hall. All donations of cash and canned goods

Blue Christmas Service Felton-Viola United Methodist Church, 101 E. Main St., Felton, will hold a Blue Christmas Service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21. This service of reflection acknowledges the fact that not everyone finds the holidays cheerful. Come have your spirits lifted and find hope in the season.

Advent Christ Lutheran Church will be holding advent services on Wednesdays. Mid day services will begin with lunch at 11:30 followed by the service at noon. In the evening will be dinner at 5:30 p.m. followed by services at 6. This will be a potluck, so bring a dish to share. All are welcome.
