Saturday Nov. 25 - We will trim the Community Love Light Tree in State Street Park. Sunday, Dec. 3 - Lighting of the Love Light Tree. Lumieres will be lit in memory of those who have passed away in the last 50 years.

John Wesley Homecoming John Wesley UMC, 804 3rd St., Seaford, will hold its annual homecoming services on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Morning theme is Remembering Our Past (with Minister Jermaine Newcomb, Samuel 7:12) and the afternoon theme is Were Pressing On (with the Rev. Dartanyon Hines, Hebrews 12:1-3). A fellowship meal will be served after the service.

Sandwich sale The Delmar Church of God of Prophecy, located at Route 13 south at Dorothy Road in Laurel (three miles north of the MD/DE state line., will hold a sandwich sale on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will feature oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, chicken salad, and lots more. There will also be baked goods, homemade ice cream, and soups.

Great Women of the Bible Mt. Calvary A.M.E. Church in Concord will Celebrate Women of the Bible and Women of Today on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 3:30 p.m. The theme is All Things New from Isaiah 43:19. For more information call (302) 470-5995.

Ordination Service Compassionate Shepherd Ministries, 10771 N. Laurel Plaza Rd., Laurel, will have an ordination service on Sunday, Sept. 24 at their 11 a.m. service. Dr. Galen S. Queen of Laurel, will be ordained as associate pastor of Compassionate Shepherd Ministries. Dr. Robert E. Douglas Jr., founder and senior pastor, will officiate. Friends and family are welcome to attend. There will be light refreshments and a reception after the service.

Oyster Fritter and Chicken Dinner Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel will be holding its annualOyster Fritter & Chicken Salad Dinneron Saturday, Sept. 23from 4-6:30 pm. Come and enjoy a delicious dinner including potato salad, greens, string beans, applesauce and dessert.The cost of the dinner is $13 for adults, $6 for children 6 - 12 and under 5 free. Come support Centenary Church while enjoying a great dinner prepared by the talented cooks of Centenary! The church is located at the corner of Market & Poplar Streets in Laurel. Christ Lutheran Church to celebrate 500th anniversary of reformation Christ Lutheran Church of Seaford will be celebrating the 500th anniversary of the reformation. Martin Luther challenged some of the techniques and principles of the Christian church during the time. Luther stressed the good news that God is seeking a loving relationship with each one of us. Come and join us as we celebrate the strong acts of this brave Christian. Everyone is invited to attend these special events. On Saturday, Sept. 30 at 12:30 p.m., the church is having a reformation festival. guided tours through various stations depicting life during the reformation and events in the life of Martin Luther. there will be fun, good and music. On Saturday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. there will be a musical. Enjoy choral groups, bell choirs, vocalists and instrumentals from various Lutheran churches around Delmarva. There will be light refreshments.

Friends and Family Day Friends and Family Day will take place Sunday, Sept. 24 at Liberating Power A.M.E. Zion Church, located at 7366 Federalsburg Road in Bridgeville. 10th Annual Outdoor Gospel Music Festival The Laurel St. Pauls UMC, located at 32827 Old Stage Road in Laurel, will hold its 10th Annual Outdoor Gospel Music Festival on Saturday, Sept. 30 starting at noon. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy featured groups Sons of Thunder, Phil Davis, the Evans Family (Ernie and son Graceson), and the Baptist Boys.
