Church welcomes new pastor

The Church of God and Saints of Christ of Seaford invite the community to the installation of the church's new pastor, Elder Aaron Carr. The worship and installation service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 22 at 10016 Concord Rd., Seaford.

Wellness Rally on Aug. 5

Are you ready to make some healthy lifestyle changes but aren't sure where to begin? Are you working on your goals but need a fresh burst of motivation?
At First Place 4 Health Wellness Rally on Saturday, Aug. 5, at Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown, you'll find a morning of fun, fellowship, fitness and food. Healthy food demonstrated by speaker Lisa Lewis, author of "Healthy Happy Cooking," as she inspires us to "bring the family back to the table." We will also discuss living a balanced life and hear testimonies from ladies who have learned how to live it.
Lunch is included. Remember to wear comfy clothes and sneakers for the "movement minutes." Better yet, come at 7:30 a.m. for the early bird exercise class with Lisa Karnish, group fitness instructor.

VBS at Mt. Calvary UMC

VBS at St. Paul's UMC

St. Paul's UMC at 32827 Old Stage Rd. in Laurel will have Vacation Bible School July 31 through Aug. 4 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This year's theme is Backyard Roundup. Mighty Fortress bible schools

The Mighty Fortress vacation bible school (VBS) will take place July 31- Aug. 4 at Christ Lutheran Church at 315 Shipley Street in Seaford from 6-8 p.m. For registration, please contact the church office at 629-9755 by July 26. All ages are welcome. Dinner will be provided at 5:30 p.m.
The Bible School for Mentally Challenged will be held at the church July 7-11 from 6-8 p.m. Dinner will be provided at 6 p.m.

VBS at Gethsemane U.M. Church

Gethsemane United Methodist Church will be offering Maker Fun Factory Vacation Bible School on July 17-20 from 6 to 8 p.m. Kids who will be 4 (no diapers please) by Aug. 31 through kids entering 5th grade this fall are welcome to attend.
Kids will have fun as they explore the Bible, sing songs, play games, and do crafts while learning that God made them, loves them, will never leave them, and has a purpose for their life.

Tickets available for prayer breakfast in Laurel

Tickets are available for the July 4 prayer breakfast, which will take place at 8 a.m. at Abbott's Grill. The prayer breakfast is sponsored by the Laurel Ministerial Association. Tickets must be purchased in advance at Abbott's at a cost of $12.

Barbecue rib dinner July 8

Christ Lutheran Church will be holding a barbecue rib dinner on Saturday, July 8 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The dinner will include barbecue ribs, baked potatoes, green beans with almonds, salad, tea/coffee/lemonade, and dessert. The cost is $15 for adults, $6 for children 6-12, and free for children five and under. The funds will be used to replace the old fellowship hall floor. Take outs are available. There will also be a silent auction.

Gospel Cafe

Christ Evangelistic Church in Laurel, will host the Gospel Cafe on Saturday, July 1. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15 and proceeds will benefit Delmarva Teem Challenge. This will be"a patriotic event honoring our veterans. Guest entertainers include the Teen Challenge Praise Band, Cathy Gorman, Real Hope with Ben Sorrows and Bruce Willey and his band.

Country Gospel Concert

A free Country Gospel Concert will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, at Market Street Park in Laurel. Artists will include Jerry Jones Ministries, Laura Mitchell, Walking Miracle Ministries, and C. Bud Scott. All are welcome. Bring a lawn chair and a cold drink.
