Chicken and Dumplings dinner The women of Woodland United Methodist Church, 5123 Woodland Church Rd., Seaford, will serve a Chicken and Dumplings dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15.Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $10; children ages 6-12, $5; 5 and under, free. Gospel Concert Delmarva Gospel Music Association presents 11th Hour and The Taylors in concert on Friday, Nov. 4, at the new Woodbridge High School in Greenwood at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6. November - 4th Annual Community Love Light Tree. This years tree in State Street Park is the biggest yet at about 40. The lights represent loved ones both living and those who have passed on - firefighters, police officers,military, breast cancer, all forms of cancer, and pets. All profits go to support the many missions of St. Stephens UMC. The lighting ceremony will be held on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 6 p.m., the first day of Advent, with singing by the Homeland Singers. Multi-family Yard Sale A Multi-family Yard Sale will be held at Abundant Life Christian Church, Laurel, on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 7 a.m. until. 12x12 spaces are available for $10. Chicken BBQ Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 532 E. Stein Hwy., Seaford, will hold a Chicken BBQ on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The meal includes 1/2 BBQ chicken, beans, slaw, roll and chips for $9. Everyone is welcome.

Galestown United Methodist Church to hold Homecoming Celebration Galestown United Methodist Church will hold its 161st Homecoming Celebration onSunday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. featuring guest speaker Rv. Dean Purdue along with Bluegrass Gospel group Timmons Family and Randy Marine. Come join the church for an afternoon of song, praise, and fellowship and you will walk away with an uplifted heart that will be full of joy. A dinner will follow at the Eldorado-Brookview Fire Hall.

Mt. Olivet Roast Beef Dinner Mt. Olivet UMC will hold its annual roast beef dinner in fellowship hall on High Street in downtown Seaford on Friday, Oct. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for children under-five. The church will also offer a Christmas shop for early shopping. Proceeds will support the churchs missions project here and abroad.

Gospel Concert Down by the River is Oct. 21 The gospel concert Down by the River will take place on Friday, Oct. 21 at St. Johns UMC in Seaford. The concert will feature Jerry Jones and the Kings Ambassadors with Jimmy Hoppa as MC. Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door. The concert will benefit the Woodland U.M. Delmar Church of God of Prophecy sandwich sale The Delmar Church of God of Prophecy will hold a sandwich sale on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The church is located on Route 13 north at Dorothy Road in Laurel, three miles north of the Maryland/Delaware state line. The sale will feature oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, chicken salad, and more. There will also be baked goods, homemade ice cream and soups.
