Stewart Day with 100 Women and Men in Black and White Stewart Day with 100 Women and Men in Black and White will take place at Liberating Power AME Zion Church in Bridgeville on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 3:30 p.m. The guest preacher will be Rev. Marion Kilgo and the congregation of Fresh Fire Church of God of Farmington with host preacher Rev. Dr. R.J. Chandler. The sponsor is Stewart Board. Mt. Olivet Roast Beef Dinner Mt. Olivet UMC will hold its annual roast beef dinner in fellowship hall on High Street in downtown Seaford on Friday, Oct. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for children under-five. The church will also offer a Christmas shop for early shopping. Proceeds will support the churchs missions project here and abroad.

Open Mic Christian Night Open Mic Christian Night, sponsored by Compassionate Shepherd Ministries, 10771 N. Plaza Rd., Laurel, will be held on Friday, Oct. 7 from 7-9 p.m. Special guest singers include Dave Morgan, Wendy Catlin and Gloria Holland. The lighting ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 27, the first day of Advent, with the Homeland Singers performing holiday music.

Fall Festival at Wheatley UMC Wheatley Methodist Church Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Galestown Community Center, Galestown, Md. Breakfast sandwiches and yard & bake sales beginning at 7 a.m. Lunch includes oyster fritters, hamburger and hot dog sandwiches and homemade soupsbeginning at 11 a.m. Proceeds will benefit the restoration of 1873 Wheatley School currently serving as Wheatley Church Hall.

Annual Homecoming Service Portsville United Methodist Church will hold its 69th annual homecoming service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, at the church. Special music will be provided by Calvin Collins. A fried chicken dinner with the trimmings will be held after the service. All are welcome. The church is located four miles west of Laurel on Dogwood Lane.

Gospel Concert Down by the River is Oct. 21 The gospel concert Down by the River will take place on Friday, Oct. 21 at St. Johns UMC in Seaford. The concert will feature Jerry Jones and the Kings Ambassadors with Jimmy Hoppa as MC. Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door. The concert will benefit the Woodland U.M. Delmar Church of God of Prophecy sandwich sale The Delmar Church of God of Prophecy will hold a sandwich sale on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The church is located on Route 13 north at Dorothy Road in Laurel, three miles north of the Maryland/Delaware state line. The sale will feature oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, chicken salad, and more. There will also be baked goods, homemade ice cream and soups. Fall Festival at Mt. Pleasant Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Mt.
