Victory Junction Joe Dawson Music Ministry will host Victory Junction from 6-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Long Neck UMC, 32051 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro. Guest singers include The Baptist Boys, Jack Andrews and Joe Dawson. Everyone is welcome.

Youth Prayer Breakfast A Community Youth Prayer Breakfast, "Youth on the Move: It's Your Time," will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Church of God and Saints of Christ Church Hall, 10016 Concord Rd., Seaford. Speakers will be the Rev. D.R. Trader from Dimensions Ministries and Bishop Jesse Abbott, senior pastor. Breakfast is free. Everyone is welcome to come out and support the youth in our community. The bus will leave the North Salisbury Walmart at 5:30 a.m. Pick up at the Seaford Walmart is at 5:45 a.m. The bus will arrive in New York by 10 a.m. and depart at 7 p.m. There will be no additional stops going up or back. Delmar Church of God of Prophecy sandwich sale The Delmar Church of God of Prophecy, located at Route 13 north and Dorothy Road in Laurel (three miles north of the Maryland and Delaware state line), will hold a sandwich sale on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will include oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, chicken salad, and much more. Ice Cream Sale Mt. Zion Methodist Church, located on Rt. 13A between Seaford and Laurel, will host an ice cream sale on Saturday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Flavors include vanilla, chocolate, banana, pineapple, and strawberry. Sunday School at Mt. Olivet Sunday school classes at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 315 High St., Seaford, resume on Sept. 11. FUNd Day at Wesley UMC Wesley United Methodist Church on Atlanta Road in Seaford will host FUNd Day on Saturday, Aug. 27 from 3-6 p.m. Enjoy a bounce house, face painting and entertainment by Greg & Teresa Watson and The Delmarva Ramblers (sound and technical support by Craig Banks). Homemade ice cream, crab cakes, hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and chips will also be available. Silent auction and a raffle for a 1930s replica of a John Deere sign or a handcrafted three-shelf bookcase. Everyone is welcome.

Patriot Day Event Sunday, September 11, marks the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on America. Wheatley Methodist Church in Galestown will hold a Patriot & National Day of Service and Remembrance event at 2 p.m. on Sept. 11, to honor the memory of the nearly 3,000 victims, law enforcement and first responders who perished during the search and recovery activities. The event will also honor the memory of our fallen military heroes and demonstrate our support for our military, law enforcement, and first responders who currently serve, or have served defending our freedom and assuring public safety. Everyone is welcome. Wheatley Methodist Church is located between Sharptown and Eldorado, Md., at the intersection of Rt. 313 and Wheatley Church Road. Some seating will be available but lawn chairs are welcomed and encouraged.

Revival to take place Sept. 10 in Seaford A Revival will take place on Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Salvation Army on Route 13 in Seaford, behind the former Plaza Tapatia restaurant. Hymn Sing at St. Paul's St. Paul's UMC Church invites the community to enjoy a night of music at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28. This month's hymn sing features the music ministry of Reunion, a local men's Southern Gospel group. Their special blend of melodies and testimonies will bless you. Free Soup Social Laurel Community Free Soup Social (formerly Christ United Methodist Church Free Soup Social), will be held each Tuesday evening, beginning Sept. 6, at Centenary United Methodist Church, 200 W. Market St., Laurel, from 5 to 6 p.m.

Prayer for our schools program A special outreach program of the National Day of Prayer Task Force Committee for the Greenwood area announces a Celebration of Prayer for Our Schools at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, at Greenwood United Methodist Church. Pastor Doug Harbaugh of Greenwood UMC will be the keynote speaker. Area coordinator is Dr. Michaele Russell, Dept. of DE VFW Auxiliary chaplain and secretary of Greenwood Memorial VFW Auxiliary Post 7478. During the event, area ministers will offer prayers for our schools for the upcoming school year and provide music. A free will offering will be taken for the Food for Back Pack Ministry sponsored by Greenwood UMC. Checks may be made payable to: Greenwood UMC and earmarked "Food for Back Packs."
