Community Youth Prayer Breakfast Church of God and Saints of Christ, 10016 Concord Rd., Seaford, will hold a Community Youth Prayer Breakfast, "It's Your Time," at 9 am. on Saturday, Sept. 17. Breakfast is free. Speaker will be the Rev. D.R. Trader from Dimensions Ministries and Bishop Jesse Abbott, senior pastor. Hymn Sing at St. Paul's St. Paul's UMC Church invites the community to enjoy a night of music at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28. This month's hymn sing features the music ministry of Reunion, a local men's Southern Gospel group. Their special blend of melodies and testimonies will bless you. The bus will leave the North Salisbury Walmart at 5:30 a.m. Pick up at the Seaford Walmart is at 5:45 a.m. The bus will arrive in New York by 10 a.m. and depart at 7 p.m. There will be no additional stops going up or back. Flu Shot Clinic The Laurel St. Paul's United Methodist Church, located at 32827 Old Stage Road in Laurel, will host a flu and pneumonia shot clinic on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Please have your prescription coverage and Medicare part B card available. Free Soup Social Laurel Community Free Soup Social (formerly Christ United Methodist Church Free Soup Social), will be held each Tuesday evening, beginning Sept. 6, at Centenary United Methodist Church, 200 W. Market St., Laurel, from 5 to 6 p.m.

Prayer for our schools program A special outreach program of the National Day of Prayer Task Force Committee for the Greenwood area announces a Celebration of Prayer for Our Schools at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, at Greenwood United Methodist Church. Pastor Doug Harbaugh of Greenwood UMC will be the keynote speaker. Area coordinator is Dr. Michaele Russell, Dept. of DE VFW Auxiliary chaplain and secretary of Greenwood Memorial VFW Auxiliary Post 7478. During the event, area ministers will offer prayers for our schools for the upcoming school year and provide music. A free will offering will be taken for the Food for Back Pack Ministry sponsored by Greenwood UMC. Checks may be made payable to: Greenwood UMC and earmarked "Food for Back Packs." A fellowship hour will immediately follow the service. The public is invited to attend. To participate in the event, area ministers are asked to contact Dr. Russell at 349-4220.

Clothing giveaway at Laurel Church of Christ A clothing giveaway will take place at the Laurel Church of Christ (1010 S. Central Avenue in Laurel) on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be free clothing for infants through adults as well as household linens such as sheets, towels, and blankets. For questions or information, call 302-875-7748.

Faithcraft Family VBS Laurel Wesleyan Church, 30186 Seaford Rd., Alt. 13, Laurel, will have a Family Style VBS experience from 5:30-8 p.m., Aug. 17-19. EHM seeks support for events Everlasting Hope Ministries (EHM) seeks support for its 23rd Annual Anti-Alcohol & Drug Tent Services on Aug. 16-18 & 21 and its Annual Community Anti-Drug March on Saturday, Aug. 20. Tent services will take place at 7 nightly and 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday and will feature many area ministers. The march will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Everlasting Hope Ministries (EHM) was established in 1993 to help individuals who have fallen prey to drug and alcohol addictions. In addition to these annual events, EHM provides transportation, job searches, mentoring, and housing which includes Tony's House, a temporary shelter for individuals in transition back into the community. Everlasting Hope Ministries would like to provide a variety of items - health care products, toiletries, educational literature, t-shirts with positive healthy messages, etc. - for free to event attendees. Funds are also needed to purchase food for both events. The Anti-Drug Rally & March, "It's Time to Move," starts and ends at 10 Booker St., Georgetown, and features special characters, entertainment, food, music and games at no cost. Between 400 to 500 marchers are expected to participate. Donations to underwrite the costs of these activities are welcome and greatly appreciated. Your tax deductible donation will be used solely to purchase materials and supplies to promote the group's anti-drug message. Checks should be made payable to Everlasting Hope Ministries. ABATE Delaware to visit Compassionate Shepherd Ministries On Sunday, Aug, 14 at 11 a.m. Compassionate Shepherd Ministries welcomes the ABATE Delaware (Sussex County Delaware) Chaplain Joe & Sarahjane Reynolds Motorcycle family.
