Camp Meeting Weekend Camp Meeting Weekend will be held at John Wesley UMC, Seaford, Friday, July 29 through Sunday, July 31. Each day enjoy food vendors, rummage sales, and activities for children and adults. The Mighty Men of Mount Calvary will be in concert on Friday night at 6:30. A motorcycle show followed by a car show will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 30. Enjoy singing and preaching by Mount Nebo congregation at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Rev. Gertrude Brown of Shiloh UMC, Pocomoke, Md., will preach at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 31.

Union Church welcomes minister Union Church, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville, welcomes new minister, the Rev. Jim Penuel. Rev. Penuel led the worship for the first time at Union on July 3. He comes from Bayside Chapel in Fenwick Island with his wife Amber and daughter Lilly (11 months). Penuel is an ordained elder in the UMC and is working on his doctor of divinity degree. Open Mic Christian Night Join us for Open Mic Christian Night from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, July 15, at Compassionate Shepherd Ministries, 10771 Sussex Hwy., Laurel. Enjoy a traditional hymn sing and singers. New singers are always welcome. Admission and snacks are free. A love offering will be taken. Come enjoy a night of uplifting praise music and friendship at our new, larger location.

Solid Rock Gospel Songfest Enjoy the Solid Rock Gospel Songfest featuring Frank Silva, Amy Stark, Jack Andrews and Sons of Thunder from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, at Victory Tabernacle Church of God, 28261 Seaford Rd., Laurel. EHM seeks support for events Everlasting Hope Ministries (EHM) seeks support for its 23rd Annual Anti-Alcohol & Drug Tent Services on Aug. 16-18 & 21 and its Annual Community Anti-Drug March on Saturday, Aug. 20. Tent services will take place at 7 nightly and 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday and will feature many area ministers. The march will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Everlasting Hope Ministries (EHM) was established in 1993 to help individuals who have fallen prey to drug and alcohol addictions. In addition to these annual events, EHM provides transportation, job searches, mentoring, and housing which includes Tony's House, a temporary shelter for individuals in transition back into the community. Everlasting Hope Ministries would like to provide a variety of items - health care products, toiletries, educational literature, t-shirts with positive healthy messages, etc. - for free to event attendees. Funds are also needed to purchase food for both events. The Anti-Drug Rally & March, "It's Time to Move," starts and ends at 10 Booker St., Georgetown, and features special characters, entertainment, food, music and games at no cost. Between 400 to 500 marchers are expected to participate. Donations to underwrite the costs of these activities are welcome and greatly appreciated. Your tax deductible donation will be used solely to purchase materials and supplies to promote the group's anti-drug message.

VBS at Gethsemane UMC Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 2701 Woodland Ferry Rd., near Seaford, will offer Surf Shack Vacation Bible School from 6-8 p.m. on July 18-21, for kids who will by 3 by Aug. 31 and not in diapers, through kids who will be entering 5th grade in the fall. Kids will have fun as they explore the Bible, sing songs, play games, and do crafts while acquiring a deeper understanding about God's amazing love and power. Early registration is encouraged. VBS at St. Paul's UMC St. Paul's UMC, 37827 Old Stage Rd., Laurel, will have Vacation Bible School on Aug. 1-5 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This year's theme is Deep Sea Discovery. VBS at Union UMC Union United Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville, will hold Vacation Bible School, "Egypt", on Aug. 1-5 from 9 a.m. to noon. Kids ages four through 10 are invited to participate in Bible-learning activities, sing songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into yummy treats, and experience one-of-a-kind Bible adventures.
