Oyster Sandwich Sale
Oyster sandwiches will be for sale on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Concord United Methodist Church Community House. Enjoy an inspiring piano performanceand testimonial by Randy Chang of Smyrna at Christ United Methodist Church, 510 S. Central Ave., Laurel, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21.
Randy and his family are a bold tribute to the human spirit and the great things that can be accomplished by continued commitment and trust in Our Lord. The Changs family story tells of challenges, struggles, and great joys as Randy lives with Down Syndrome, as well as being legally blind. In spite of these challenges, Randy has completed his college education, and been officially commissioned to ministry, as he serves nursing home residents with his piano selections and his testimony.Bring your family and friends to this free concert. Old Christ Church dinner
On Saturday, Jan. 30, Old Christ Church League will hold its Annual Meeting and Dinner, and will also celebrate the 245th anniversary of the groundbreaking of Old Christ Church in Laurel.
The celebration, to be held at St. Philips Episcopal Church, 600 S. Central Ave., Laurel, will commence with a social hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 and the meeting/program at 8.
Featured in the festivities will be the Rev. Kirk Mariner, United Methodist minister and historian, who will perform selections from his album Church Basement Songs not quite reverent enough for upstairs.
The cost of the evening is $20 per person, and ticket information can be obtained by calling 249-1085.
Mardi Gras Celebration
A Mardi Gras Celebration to benefit the charities of the Knights of Columbus will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Hall in Seaford on Saturday, Feb. 6.
Enjoy dinner, dancing and Music by DJ Karl featuring a mix of music from yesterday and today. Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner will be served at 6:30. The menu will feature chicken, chicken and sausage gumbo with rice, potato salad, collard greens, Mardi Gras cole slaw, dessert and cash bar.
Tickets are $20 per person and will only be sold in advance. Tickets may be obtained at the Parish Office or from members of the Knights of Columbus.
Womens Prayer Breakfast

St. Johns United Methodist Church in Seaford will host Surviving the Holidays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, in the Wesley Lounge.
Holidays can include any special day in our memory which produce a sadness when we have to face the day without that special someone.
