Presbyterian Advent Join us for the following events at Seaford Presbyterian Church located at 701 Bridgeville Hwy., Seaford. Christmas Sunday Celebration - Dec. 20, 10 a.m. Christmas Eve Candlelight and Communion - Dec. 24, 6 p.m.

Candlelight Service A Christmas candlelight service of lessons and carols will be held at Todds Chapel UMC on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 7:30 p.m. The church is located at 102 Todds Chapel Rd., Greenwood. All are invited to attend.

Coat Closet Christian Church of Seaford's Coat Closet will be open the first and third Wednesday of each month from 4 to 6 p.m. The church is located across from Harley Davidson, 22581 Sussex Hwy., Seaford.

Cookbooks for sale Delmar Wesleyan Church is selling cookbooks for $10 each to help with its kitchen remodeling project. Books may be purchased by calling James Littleton at 841-8874.

Griefshare at St. John's Griefshare is being offered by St. John's United Methodist Church, 300 N. Pine St., Seaford, on Sunday, Dec. 13 from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Wesley Lounge. Moving forward is a necessity but it is a process. Pain and peace will always coexist and we will discuss what to live for now. No children as childcare is not provided.

Holiday Caroling The Widows and Orphans Department Church of God and Saints of Christ, 10016 Concord Rd., Seaford, present Holiday Caroling by the Sussex Community Gospel Mass Choir at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13. Everyone is welcome to come sing with us.

'Longest Night' service Christmas can be a difficult time. The constant refrain about the happiness of the season, about getting together with family and friends, reminds many people of what they have lost or have never had. The days grow shorter and we need encouragement. For these reasons, Providence United Methodist Church is offering a "Longest Night" service at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18. The church is located on Shortly Road in Georgetown. Join us in sharing and hearing prayers, scripture, and music that acknowledge that God's presence is for those who mourn, for those who struggle - and that God's Word comes to shine light into our darkness. Christmas musical at First Baptist The choir of First Baptist Church of Seaford invites the community to an inspirational performance of the Christmas musical, "Do You Hear What I Hear?" composed by Susan Naylor Callaway and Mark Brymer. The performance will take place Sunday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m.

Cookie and Fudge Sale The Abundant Life Christian Church Women's Fellowship in Laurel will hold a Cookie and Fudge Sale on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop in for fellowship and a variety of treats.

Free Thrift Store Encounter Praize and Worship Center will hold their 3rd Annual Free Thrift Store on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for those in need. Gospel Concert and Lasagna Dinner The Homeland Singers will sing in the new year with its Annual Gospel Concert and Lasagna Dinner on New Year's Eve, Thursday, Dec. 31, at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church in Delmar. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and the concert starts at 7. Singers include Jack Andrews, Triple Praise and The Homeland Singers and guest. The menu includes dinner, salad, drinks, desserts and coffee

Father Daughter Dance Mount Olivet's annual Father Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 from 7-9:30 p.m. at Seaford High School. Tickets are available at Posey Palace and on The Bridge's website. Tickets are $10 prior to Dec. 25 and $15 after. Get your tickets early as the event has sold out in previous years.
