Roast Beef Dinner The Methodist Women of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Seaford will hold their Annual Roast Beef Dinner from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, in the church's Fellowship Hall. Dinner will be served buffet style and take-outs will be available. Tickets will be on sale at the door; $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for children ages 5 and under. Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church is located at 315 High St., Seaford. The church's Fellowship Hall is handicap accessible so all are encouraged to attend. Annual Burton's Family Day Annual Burton's Family Day will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, at Israel United Methodist Church, 20230 Plantation Rd., Lewes. Guest speaker will be First Lady Fonda Burton Meekins of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, Bridgeville and the Burton Family Choir will perform. Everyone is welcome.

Chinese Auction at St. Philip's St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Laurel will hold its 10th Annual Chinese Auction on Saturday, Nov. 14. Doors to Memorial Hall will open at 5 p.m. Chili, hot dogs, desserts and beverages will be sold. The auction will begin at 6 p.m and proceeds will benefit the church. Father Daughter Dance Mount Olivet's annual Father Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 from 7-9:30 p.m. at Seaford High School. Tickets will be available for purchase at Mount Olivet during Seaford's First Saturday event on Saturday, Nov. 7 from noon to 5 p.m. and during Mount Olivet's Tailgate event after the 11 a.m. service on Sunday, Nov. 8. After that, tickets will be available at Posey Palace and on The Bridge's website. Tickets are $10 prior to Dec. 25 and $15 after. Get your tickets early as the event has sold out in previous years.

Free Thanksgiving Dinner Bethel United Methodist Church at Oak Grove invites everyone to the 8th annual free Thanksgiving dinner at noon on Thursday, Nov. 26. There is only one seating at noon. The church is located west of Seaford at 2381 Neals School Road.

Griefshare at St. John's Griefshare is being offered at St. John's United Methodist Church, 300 N. Pine St., Seaford, from 4-5:30 in the Wesley Lounge on Sunday, Oct. 25. The topic will be Guilt and Anger and how to deal with false guilt. If you are living in grief, we invite you to join us for the 13 week nondenominational journey From Mourning to Joy. Community Thrift Shop St. John's UMC Community Thrift Shop located at 259 Conwell St., Seaford, is open to the public every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shop features gently used merchandise - kitchen items, linens, clothing for all ages and more - at great prices. Storewide half-price sales are held the first Saturday of each month. Donations are gratefully accepted every Thursday from 1-3 p.m.

Gospel Concert and Lasagna Dinner The Homeland Singers will sing in the new year with its Annual Gospel Concert and Lasagna Dinner on New Year's Eve, Thursday, Dec. 31, at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church in Delmar. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and the concert starts at 7. Singers include Jack Andrews, Triple Praise and The Homeland Singers and guest. The menu includes dinner, salad, drinks, desserts and coffee. Fall Festival at Mt. Pleasant Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Laurel, will hold its Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join us for oyster sandwiches made by the King Family, hot dogs, homemade soup, homemade ice cream and a baked goods table. Hymn Sing at St. Paul's St. Paul's UMC Church welcomes the community to a Hymn Sing featuring Reunion, a local men's Southern Gospel group with traditional four part harmony, on Sunday, Oct. 25. Bonfire/Harvest Get Together Abundant Life Christian Church is hosting a Bonfire/Harvest Get Together on Friday, Oct. 23, starting at 6:30 p.m. This is a community event and all are welcome. Festivities include hot dogs, chili, s'mores, music, and games for the family. Bring a chair and come join us in fellowship and fun. We are located at the corner of Bethel and Seaford Road.
