Powerlifting and Faith

Lifted in Faith, a Christian group that performs feats of strength in its programs, will be in Delaware Sept. 16 through 21. Justin Isaacs, a Seaford native and a member of the Louisiana-based group, will be included in the performances.Locally, Lifted in Faith will perform on Sept. 17, 7 p.m., at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown; on Sept. 18, 7 p.m., at Uprising Church, Hebron, Md., where Isaacs is a member; and Sept. 19, 6 p.m., at the Central Worship Center, 14545 Sycamore Road, Laurel.

Annual Family and Friends Day

Ross Point Freedom Church will hold its annual Family and Friends Day service at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Church of God, Saints of Christ building, 10016 Concord Rd., Seaford. Guest preacher will be Pastor Johnathan Dukes, Lincoln. Everyone is welcome.

Service for Janice Moseley

A memorial service for Janice Moseley will be held at 2 on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 16, at the Manor House in Seaford. A reception will follow.

Walk to Emmaus

The Seaford Walk to Emmaus Gathering & Sponsorship Training will be held on Sunday, Sept. 20 at St. John's Church Fellowship Hall in Seaford. The schedule includes a covered dish dinner (chicken provided) at 4:30 p.m., sponsorship training session at 5:30 p.m. and gathering with 4th Day speaker at 6:30 p.m. Call St. John's church office at 629-9466 to confirm dinner attendance.

Worship and a Picnic at St. Luke's

St. Luke's Church invites everyone to Worship and a Picnic on the Nanticoke River, at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20. Sunday worship services will be held at Pastor Marianne Ell's home on the Nanticoke at 26820 River Rd. Following morning worship, we will have a picnic lunch. Bring a dish to share. Meats and soft drinks will be furnished. The picnic worship will be at 10 a.m. There will not be a worship service at the church that day.

Events at St. Stephen's UMC

The following events will take place at St. Stephen's UMC in Delmar.
Sunday, Sept. 13 - All you eat Beef and Dumplings Dinner - 12:30 - 4 p.m., VFW, Delmar, Md. $14 for adults.
Saturday, Oct. 17 - Fall Festival - 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Camelot Hall. Join us for a great day of family fun, food and singing. There will be oyster fritters, homemade ice cream, soups, hot dogs and crafts for sale. The Kings Ambassadors and the Home Land Singers will perform.
Sunday, Nov. 29 - 3rd Annual Community Love Light Tree, Lighting Ceremony, 6 p.m., State Street Park, Delmar. Buy a light to remember a loved one. Come out and see the tree light up the park with 7,000 lights. See your loved ones' names on our banner. Singing and hot chocolate. Buy a light and remember a loved one.
Saturday, Dec. 19 - Bus Trip to Sight and Sound to see Miracle of Christmas. Cost is $90 for adults and $50 for ages 3-12. All money due by Oct. 15. Make checks payable to Dawn Turner.

Sunday School resumes Sept. 13

Mount Olivet United Methodist Church Sunday School will resume on Sunday, Sept. 13.Everyone is welcome.
Classes, which meet from 9:45-10:45 a.m., are available for all ages from nursery through adults. Five different adult classes are available. Visit for more information. Snacks are available in the Fellowship Hall before Sunday School every Sunday.
Again this year, prizes will be given at random to children and youth who attend. Two names will be selected each month; one name for kids in fifth grade and younger and another from youth insixth grade and older.Children may also select a prize from the prize basket at the direction of their teacher.

Annual Homecoming at New Zion

New Zion United Methodist Church in Laurel will celebrate their Annual Homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 13.

The morning service begins at 10 a.m. and the afternoon service begins at 3:30 p.m. TheRev. Robert L. Johnson of Tindley Temple UMC in Philadelphia, Pa., the afternoon preacher, will be accompanied bythe Gospel Chorus and congregation. Sandwich Sale

Delmar Church of God of Prophecy in Laurel will hold a Sandwich Sale on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale includes oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, chicken salad and more. Revival in Blades

A Revival - Feed My Sheep - will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Town Hall, Blades Park, Blades. For more information, call 262-0481. Refreshments will be served.

Gospel Concert

St. George's United Methodist Church, 34894 St. George Rd., Delmar, will host an outdoor gospel concert - bring your own lawn chair - at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the church. Singers will be Kings Ambassadors, Bay City and Greg and Teresa Watson from Nashville.
Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, desserts, soda and bottled water will be available for purchase.
Everyone is welcome. Come prepared to receive a blessing.

Living Proof Simulcast

Union United Methodist, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville, is currently the only church on the Delmarva Peninsula hosting this year's Living Proof Simulcast with Beth Moore. The simulcast takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. Seating is limited and will fill up quickly. Call the church office at 337-7409 to reserve your spot before Aug. 21. Rainbows for Children, Griefshare

St. Johns United Methodist Church, 300 Pine St., Seaford, is offering Rainbows for Children, ages 9-14. Parents are invited to join us at the introductory season on Sunday, Sept. 13. St. John's is also offering Griefshare starting Sept. 13 at 4:30 p.m. This 90-minute program is a 13 week support group for people who are grieving the loss of someone close to them.
