Chicken and Dumpling Dinner The women of Woodland United Methodist Church, 5123 Woodland Church Rd., Seaford, will serve a Chicken and Dumpling Dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $10; children ages 6-12, $5; ages 5 and under, free. No carry-outs. For more information, call 629-5404 or 629-4662.

Griefshare at St. John's UMC Griefshare is being offered by St. John's United Methodist Church, 300 N. Pine St., Seaford, on Sunday, April 19 from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Wesley Lounge. We will discuss guilt and anger and how to deal with false guilt. If you are living with grief, we invite you to join us for the 13 week non-denominational journey, From Mourning to Joy. Open Mic Christian Night Open Mic Christian Night & Jesus Party Night sponsored by Compassionate Shepherd Ministries will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, April 17, at The Lighthouse Church, 27225 Kaye Rd., Laurel. This will be a special night of gospel and praising. Stopping by will be The Veasey Family, Bud Scott, Gloria Holland, Wilson Sturgis, Connie & Allen and more local singers. Free admission and snacks. A love offering will be taken for local outreach programs.

Revival at Greater Works Greater Works Kingdom Ministries, Laurel, will host a two-night revival with Evangelist Frank Gibbs on April 22-23. The theme is "It's Time to Spring Forth." Host pastor is Elder Phillip White.

Sandwich Sale, Yard Sale Delmar Church of God of Prophecy in Laurel will hold a Sandwich Sale on Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will feature oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, chicken salad and more. There will also be baked goods and homemade ice cream. For a yard sale space, which is $10, call 443-235-5494.

Spring Yard Sale Event Carey's United Methodist Church in Millsboro announces its Spring Yard Sale Event on Saturday, May 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a community outreach opportunity and everyone is invited. Come to buy, come to sell. Bring your own tables. Cost is $5 for a space which must be reserved. There will also be scrapple sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks. Hymn Sing at St. Paul's St. Paul's UMC Church in Laurel invites the community to join us for a night of worship at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 26. This month's Hymn Sing will feature the music ministry of Thom Slaughter of Second Wind Ministries. Thom is well known throughout Delmarva for his inspirational songs and gifted music ministry. Come join us for an evening that will lift your spirits. A love offering will be taken to benefit his ministry.

Annual Prayer Breakfast The Kiwanis Club of Delmar will hold their annual Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, May 9 starting at 9 a.m. in Camelot Hall at St. Stephens United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kenneth Athey will deliver the message and the choir of First Baptist Church will furnish the music. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased from Kiwanis members or at the door.

Frank Donio, S.A.C., director of the Catholic Apostolate Center in Washington, D.C., will present "Encountering Christ: A Parish Mission" at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Seaford on Wednesday, April 29, Thursday, April 30 and Friday, May 1 from 7-8:30 p.m. What does it mean to have a personal encounter with Jesus Christ? Join Fr. Frank Donio during this special three-day parish mission as we explore the ways in which we can encounter Christ in our parish community and in our daily lives. The New Evangelization calls us to live as "missionary disciples" - followers who have personally encountered Christ and are sent into the world to bring Him to others.
