Grace hosts No Name Band

911 recognition service
The Clarence Street Church of God in Seaford will host a concert by the Sensational Pearly Gates Gospel Quartet, from New Jersey on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 5 p.m. The service will also pay tribute to the 911 first line-responders and heroes who serve the nation. Christ Church 'Purpose Driven'
Christ United Methodist Church, 510 S. Central Ave., in Laurel, will be participating in a nationwide spiritual growth campaign called "40 Days of Purpose" featuring the best-selling devotional book, "The Purpose Driven Life," by Pastor Rick Warren. On Sunday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m., Christ Church is inviting anyone wishing to participate in a small group study to come to a special sign-up day at the church to sign up for one of 11 small groups to be meeting at various tunes each week for 7 weeks. A pre-recorded 90 minute national simulcast presentation highlighting the entire campaign will also be shown that day. "The Purpose Driven Life" daily devotional book, which is the focus of each group study, can be purchased for $8. Groups will begin meeting weekly on Sept. 25. 125 Anniversary Homecoming
Greenwood United Methodist Church will celebrate its 125th aniversary/homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Sandra Steiner-Ball, district superintendent, and special music is being provided by the Epworth Quartet. A covered dish dinner (entree provided) will be served following the service. End of life issues discussed
A panel discussion on end of life issues will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 7 p.m., at St. John's United Methodist Church, located at Pine and Popular streets, Seaford. Participants include Rev. Larry Ganster, Delaware Hospice social worker; Michael McGroerty, attorney-at-law; Dr. Marie Wolfgang, internal medicine; and Rev. Boyd Etter, senior pastor of St. John's U.M. Church. Discussion will surround questions concerning the emotional, legal, medical and spiritual considerations on issues such as advance directives and living wills, followed by a time for questions and distribution of forms. The public is invited.

New Zion homecoming
New Zion United Methodist Church is celebrating its annual homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 11. The day will begin with praise and worship at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy A. Duffield, Sr. Fellowship dinner starts at 1:30 p.m., followed by the memorial service starting at 3:30 p.m. The Rev. Bernadette Beckett will be accompanied by her choir and congregation during the 4 p.m. service.

St. Luke's fall schedule
The fall schedule will begin Sunday, Sept. 11, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Seaford. The schedule is as follows: 9 a.m., Holy Eucharist; education hour (Church School and Adult Forum) 10:30 a.m. Beginning Thursday, Sept. 22, and every Thursday, there will be the celebration of Holy Eucharist at 6 p.m. Manor House Holy Eucharist is at 10:30 a.m., the second Wednesday of each month and Lofland Prayer Service is at 2 p.m. the third Sunday of the month.

Musicians, singers needed
The first weekly contemporary and community "Saturday Night Son Rise Celebration with Jesus Christ" will be on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 6:30 p.m., in St. John's Church sanctuary located on Pine and Popular streets in Seaford. The celebration is seeking community volunteer praise band musicians and singers and up to 30 contemporary choir singers. Call Rob Harman at 302-462-0510 for audition times and place. Southern gospel group
St. Paul's United Methodist Church, located on Old Stage Road, in Laurel, Delaware will be hosting the ever-popular southern gospel music group "The Royal Sounds." The group based in the Lancaster Pa., area has spread the gospel with their musical talent for many years up and down the mid-Atlantic region. Annual Fall Bazaar
Christ United Methodist Church ,510 South Central Avenue in Laurel will hold its Annual Fall Bazaar on Friday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., carry-outs are available.
