Services at Old Christ Church Summer services for Old Christ Church, Laurel, will be held at 10 a.m. on the first Sunday of each month, June through September. The services are conducted according to an historic liturgy, Holy Eucharist, celebrated by the Rev. Howard Backus and sermon. Home repair program available Homeowners in rural areas who need repairs to their home but cant afford regular loans may be eligible for a USDA Rural Development loan at only one percent interest. Seniors, age 62 and older, may qualify for free home repairs up to $7,500 through the USDA Rural Development grant program. Funding may become limited after June 30. We are looking for lower income homeowners that need help fixing or replacing a roof, installation or repair of a septic system, replace storm doors and windows, or other repairs to correct or remove existing health, safety, sanitary and accessibility issues, said Bill McGowan, Delaware and Maryland director for USDA Rural Development.  For more information, contact the Maryland/Delaware Rural Development Office at 302-857-3595 or 800-670-6553.

Lunch n Learn about slavery Slavery today? Even in Delaware? Come to a free Lunch n Learn about modern day slavery at noon on Thursday, June 5, at Seaford Presbyterian Church, 701 Bridgeville Hwy. Open Mike Christian Night Open Mike Christian Night is the first and third Friday of every month from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church. Free admission and free snacks. Bring your singing talents - CD or musical instrument. One person, group singers, young to seniors are welcome. Enjoy singing, praises and testimonials to the Lord. Native American Womens Choir  A Native American womens praise choir representing 19 tribes will perform at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at Grace Baptist Church in Seaford.The choir will present a program of praise music singing in the Cherokee, Choctaw and Chickasaw languages. Whether you are a novice or have achieved success in writing, you are invited to join Kingdom Writers Fellowship. Sussex Community Choir to perform Agape Temple International Ministries, Inc. presents the Sussex Community Choir at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 7. The church is located at 40 Schulze Rd., Greenwood. MWM meets on June 14 Mothers With a Mission (MWM) will hold their second open meeting on Saturday, June 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. on the second floor of the Georgetown Public Library. Led by Candy Abbott, MWM seeks to build up godly mothers in an effort to give the world something to aspire to. The group is made up of mothers who think it is about time to speak up and do something positive to bring back morality and spirituality to the nation we call home.
