Annual Gospel Meeting Join Laurel Church of Christ for their Annual Gospel Meeting from Jan. 26-29. Enjoy a week of fellowship and study on Lessons from James. Lessons from James starts on Sunday, Jan. 26, with a Bible Study at 9 a.m. and worship to follow. Dramatic Dessert Theater Tour Power Productions Ministries presents a fundraiser, The Dramatic Dessert Theater Tour. Join us for a night of all-you-can-eat elegant desserts, like Creme Brulee, followed by a night of entertaining drama. The fundraiser, which benefits St. Stephens UMC, will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at St. Stephens UMC, Camelot Hall, Delmar. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and kids under 4 are free. Get tickets at the door the night of the event, at the church office or at Power Productions. Monthly writers group Have you always wished you could write stories, articles or even a book, but dont know how to begin? Have you drafted manuscripts, but need help getting them published? Whether you are a novice or have achieved success in writing, you are invited to join Kingdom Writers Fellowship. Mitten Tree donations  Help us help others keep warm. Dons Tree Farm in association with Georgetown Presbyterian Church is collecting new hats, scarves and mittens for their Mitten Tree. Items can be dropped off at Dons Tree Farm, 6396 Hickman Rd., Greenwood or at the Georgetown Presbyterian Church on Bedford Street in Georgetown.  All items will be distributed locally. Sizes from infants to adults would be appreciated. Hymn sing at Galestown UMC Galestown United Methodist Church will hold a hymn sing, Bethlehem Morn, under the direction of Gloria Dill, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19. A light lunch will follow at the church.

Lightning Strikes concerts The Lightning Strikes concert series, at The Lighthouse Church, located at 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway at Dukes Lumber Road, Laurel, is held every second and fourth Saturday of the month. Griefshare class offered Griefshare, a seminar and group support for people grieving the loss of someone close, is offered at Encounter Praize at Christ Lutheran Church, Seaford. Griefshare is a non-denominational group that features Biblical teaching on grief and recovery. One class will meet on Friday mornings from 9 to 11 and the second meet Saturdays from 5 to 7 p.m. Call 629-9755 for details.
