Christmas Eve in Bethel A traditional Christmas Eve Service will be held at 11 p.m. on Dec. 24, at Sailors Bethel United Methodist Church in Bethel. The singing of many carols will be led by the Choir, plus Oh Holy Night and Silent Night sung by candlelight, and in between there will be readings of the Birth of the Baby Jesus. Come join us. All are welcome. Come spend Christmas Eve with us.

Christmas at St. Johns UMC St. Johns United Methodist Church in Seaford is celebrating Advent. On Thursday, Dec. 19, there will be a Preschool Christmas Pageant. Come and be blessed by the children of St. Johns Preschool as they perform their annual Christmas Pageant. Performances are at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. On Dec. 22, the Fourth Sunday of Advent, come and experience A Child is Born, a cantata by Mary McDonald. There will be one service at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. A social hour will directly follow in the fellowship hall. Christmas Eve Services on Dec. 24 will feature a contemporary worship service with the Praise Team Band at 7:30 p.m. There will be familiar contemporary music favorites and a brief service with a touch of the traditional including the sacrament of Communion and candle lighting to Silent Night. The Traditional Christmas Eve Service will be held at 10 p.m. St. Johns Choir will lead in singing many cherished Christmas Carols of old. Gospel Cafe Christmas Show The Gospel Cafe Country Christmas Show, featuring a talented cross-section of local gospel singers and the ever-popular Gospel Cafe Band, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, at Seaford Wesleyan Church. Join us for our free music ministry as we celebrate the Christmas season and sing praises to our Savior. A full dinner is available for $8 including dessert and a beverage. Christmas Eve Candlelight Service Good Samaritan Christian Fellowship Church will hold a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. The church is located at 26764 Seaford Rd., Seaford, one mile south of Blades. For more information, contact Pastor Ray Justice Jr. at 629-0256.

Lightning Strikes concerts The Lightning Strikes concert series, at The Lighthouse Church, located at 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway at Dukes Lumber Road, Laurel, is held every second and fourth Saturday of the month. Celebrate Christmas at Centenary On the evening of Dec. 24, the Centenary United Methodist Church, in Laurel, will offer a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7 p.m. and a second Candlelight Service with Holy Communion at 10. All are invited to worship with us as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.

Choir presents Christmas celebration The choir of Atlanta Road Alliance Church, under the direction of Richard Trice, will present Festival of Lights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, and again at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22.   The themes of hope, peace, love and joy flow through the familiar carols, newer musical compositions and narration.

The presentation is free.  Atlanta Road Alliance Church is located at 22625 Atlanta Rd., Seaford, approximately 1-1/2 miles north of the intersection of Stein Highway (Rt. 20) and Atlanta Road.

Christmas Mass schedule Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Seaford announces its 2013 mass schedule. Tuesday, Dec. 24 - Confessions - 9 - 11 a.m.; Family Mass - 5:30 p.m.; Spanish Mass - 7:30 p.m.; Midnight Mass - midnight. The Childrens Choir will perform for the 5:30 Family Mass and the Adult Choir will perform for the Midnight Mass. Wednesday, Dec. 25 - Christmas Day Mass - 8 a.m., 10 a.m.

Christmas at Seaford Presbyterian Christmas Sunday Pageant and Worship will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, at Seaford Presbyterian Church. A Christmas Eve Candlelight and Communion Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24. The church is located at 701 Bridgeville Hwy. (one block north of Dunkin Donuts), Seaford.

One Starry Night Take your family back in time to ancient Bethlehem on Sunday, Dec. 22, at Laurel Nazarene Church for One Starry Night. You will taste, see and smell what daily life was like when Jesus was born. There will be stations and activities for kids of all ages so bring your whole family. Griefshare class offered Griefshare, a special seminar and group support for people grieving the loss of someone close, will be offered at Encounter Praize at Christ Lutheran Church, Seaford. Griefshare is a non-denominational group that features Biblical teaching on grief and recovery. One class will meet on Friday mornings from 9 to 11 and the second class will meet on Saturday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. Call 629-9755 for details.
