Gift Shoppe in Laurel The Gift Shoppe, a fundraiser at Christ the Cornerstone Community Church, 28714 Seaford Rd., Laurel, is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14. Holiday items include Christmas wreaths, garlands, centerpieces, dishware, accessories, quilts, cookie jars, lighthouses and more. Regular items include dishware, furniture, candle holders, glassware, tools, clothing, jewelry and much more.

Christmas at St. John's UMC St. John's United Methodist Church in Seaford will celebrate Advent. The Third Sunday of Advent, Dec. 15, begins with contemporary worship at 9 a.m. followed by harp and organ prelude at 10:45 and traditional worship at 11. On Thursday, Dec. 19 there will be a Preschool Christmas Pageant. Come and be blessed by the children of St. John's Preschool as they perform their annual Christmas Pageant. Performances are at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. On Dec. 22, the Fourth Sunday of Advent, come and experience "A Child is Born," a cantata by Mary McDonald. There will be one service at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. A social hour will directly follow in the fellowship hall. Christmas Eve Services on Dec. 24 will feature a contemporary worship service with the Praise Team Band at 7:30 p.m. There will be familiar contemporary music favorites and a brief service with a touch of the traditional including the sacrament of Communion and candle lighting to Silent Night. The Traditional Christmas Eve Service will be held at 10 p.m. St. John's Choir will lead in singing many cherished Christmas Carols of old. Lightning Strikes concert series The Lightning Strikes concert series, at The Lighthouse Church, located at 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway at Dukes Lumber Road, Laurel, is held every second and fourth Saturday of the month. 'Come Home to Christmas' "Come Home to Christmas" at Cannon Church at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15. Join us for scripture, prayers and carols. The Rev. Martha Callaway will lead the service, joined by Pastor Rich Evans of St. John's Methodist Church of Seaford. Advent services Christ Lutheran Church invites the community to join them on Dec. 18. Worship is from noon to 12:30 p.m. and lunch is from 12:30 to 1. The themes follow the pattern of the Advent wreath. There are five candles on the Advent wreath - Prophets' Candle, Bethlehem Candle, Shepherds' Candle, Angels' Candle and the Christ Candle. The first four candles ring the wreath and the Christ candle is in the center. The service on Dec. 18 will focus on the Shepherds and the excitement of hearing God's promises and seeing them come to fulfillment.

Gospel Cafe Country Christmas The Gospel Cafe Country Christmas will be held at Seaford Wesleyan Church, "The Ark," in Seaford, on Saturday, Dec. 21. Dinner, which begins at 5 p.m., includes dessert and drink for $8 per person. Music begins at 6. Join us as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Christmas Mass schedule Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Seaford announces its 2013 mass schedule. Saturday, Dec. 14 - Our Lady of Guadalupe - 6:30 p.m., Mass; 7:30 p.m., Party Tuesday, Dec. 24 - Confessions - 9 - 11 a.m.; Family Mass - 5:30 p.m.; Spanish Mass - 7:30 p.m.; Midnight Mass - midnight.

The Children's Choir will perform for the 5:30 Family Mass and the Adult Choir will perform for the Midnight Mass. Wednesday, Dec. 25 - Christmas Day Mass - 8 a.m., 10 a.m. Come early for parking and to get a seat.

Gospel Hymn Sing Victory Junction will hold a Gospel Hymn Sing at Long Neck United Methodist Church, 32501 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14. The sing will feature Homeland Singers, Jimmy Cullen and Joe Dawson. For more information, call 934-6995.

Celebrate Christmas at Centenary The Joyous Sounds of Christmas: A Free Organ and Piano Concert of Christmas Music will be performed by Ruth Davis and Linda Kane with one and all joining in singing some of our favorite Carols of Christmas, on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel. This concert is being offered as an afternoon break from all the stress of seasonal preparations. On the evening of Dec. 24, the church will offer a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7 p.m. and a second Candlelight Service with Holy Communion at 10. All are invited to worship with us as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.

Choir presents Christmas celebration The choir of Atlanta Road Alliance Church, under the direction of Richard Trice, will present Festival of Lights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, and again at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22. The themes of hope, peace, love and joy flow through the familiar carols, newer musical compositions and narration. The presentation is free. Atlanta Road Alliance Church is located at 22625 Atlanta Rd., Seaford, approximately 1-1/2 miles north of the intersection of Stein Highway (Rt. 20) and Atlanta Road.

Christmas at All Saints' Church Everyone is welcome to join us at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 10th and Grove streets, Delmar, for our celebrations this holy season: Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 7 p.m. - Holy Eucharist with carols and candlelight Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 8 a.m. - Holy Eucharist Service of Lessons and Carols, Dec. 29, 10 a.m.

Christmas at Seaford Presbyterian Christmas Sunday Pageant and Worship will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, at Seaford Presbyterian Church. A Christmas Eve Candlelight and Communion Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24. The church is located at 701 Bridgeville Hwy. (one block north of Dunkin Donuts), Seaford.

One Starry Night Take your family back in time to ancient Bethlehem on Sunday, Dec. 22, at Laurel Nazarene Church for One Starry Night. You will taste, see and smell what daily life was like when Jesus was born. There will be stations and activities for kids of all ages so bring your whole family. Live Nativity at Mariner's Church Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church will present a Live Nativity featuring the Christmas story, music and carols from 5:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, following the Ocean View Carols in the Park event in John West Park, Ocean View. On Wednesday, Dec. 18, the church will present a Live Nativity featuring the Christmas story told and re-told every half hour from 6 to 8 p.m. on the church grounds at 81 Central Ave., Ocean View.
