Lightning Strikes concert series The Lightning Strikes concert series, at The Lighthouse Church, located at 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway at Dukes Lumber Road, Laurel, is held every second and fourth Saturday of the month. Summer service schedule Old Christ Church, Laurel will be open for regular Sunday services on the first Sunday of each month, June through September. The services, Holy Eucharist and Sermon, will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1.

Open Mic Christian Night Open Mic Christian Night is the first and third Friday of every month from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church located at 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway at Dukes Lumber Road. St. Stephens UMC fundraiser St. Stephens UMC will have a Love Light Tree to raise money for its many ministries. A Love Light Tree is a Christmas tree decorated with multi-color lights for Christmas andthe different colored lights represent different types of ways of honoring loved ones. A minimum of $5 is requested per light and larger gifts are welcome. Checks should be payable to St. Stephens Church with Love Light Tree, in the memo. Griefshare class offered Griefshare, a special seminar and group support for people grieving the loss of someone close, will be offered at Encounter Praize at Christ Lutheran Church, Seaford. Griefshare is a non-denominational group that features Biblical teaching on grief and recovery. One class will meet on Friday mornings from 9 to 11 and the second class will meet on Saturday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. Call 629-9755 for details.

Fall worship resumes Union United Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws St., Bridgeville, will resume its regular fall worship services on Sunday, Sept. 8. The contemporary service is led by the Praise and Worship Team at 9 a.m. Childrens church is from 9 to 10 a.m. for children ages four through 4th grade. Sunday school for children, youth and adults is from 10 to 10:45 a.m. The traditional service is from 11 a.m. to noon. Church selling Cats Meow replicas Christ Lutheran Church is selling Cats Meow wooden replicas of their church building to benefit their food shelf. Orders can be placed by calling the church office at 629-9755. The church can also be visited from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday to examine samples and proofs. The church is located at 315 N. Shipley St., Seaford.

New hymn sing format St. Pauls UMC has changed its monthly hymn sing format. Doors open at 5 p.m. with live music beginning at 5:15 until 6, when the featured group will begin singing. The program ends at 8. We invite the community to join us for another night of music on Sunday, Aug. 25. This months Hymn Sing will feature a local gospel music trio, The Good News Tour. Community Day Laurel Wesleyan Church will hold a free Community Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8 at Janosik Park in Laurel. The community is invited to come to Janosik Park by Broadcreek in Laurel for music, food, face painting, games and fishing activities, a moon bounce, corn hole, dunking booth, cotton candy, popcorn and a free clothing and coat drive. Revival Meeting A Revival Meeting will be held at Blades Town Hall Public Park from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, which is Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. Aging Faithfully meetings resume Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville will resume its Aging Faithfully meetings for mature adults on Monday, Sept. 9. The meetings, which are from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month, are open to anyone who wishes to attend. After a free lunch, there will be a Scavenger Hunt. Beginning in October, the group will begin a Bible Study, A Disciples Path, written by James Harnish.
