Lightning Strikes concert series The Lightning Strikes concert series, at The Lighthouse Church, located at 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway at Dukes Lumber Road, Laurel, is held every second and fourth Saturday of the month. Summer Service Schedule Old Christ Church, Laurel will be open for regular Sunday services on the first Sunday of each month, June through September. The services, Holy Eucharist and Sermon, will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4 and Sunday, Sept. 1.

VBS at St. Paul's UMC St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Laurel will hold Vacation Bible School (VBS) on Aug. 5-9, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This year's theme is God's Backyard Bible Camp under the sun and stars. Hymn Sing at Concord UMC A Hymn Sing will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, at Concord United Methodist Church near Seaford. St. Stephens UMC fundraiser St. Stephens UMC will have a Love Light Tree to raise money for its many ministries. A Love Light Tree is a Christmas tree decorated with multi-color lights for Christmas and the different colored lights represent different types of ways of honoring loved ones. A minimum of $5 is requested per light and larger gifts are welcome. Checks should be payable to St. Stephens Church with "Love Light Tree," in the memo. Missionaries to speak Delmar Wesleyan Church will host newly retired missionaries from Zimbabwe, Quinn and Martha Morgan at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 21. The missionaries will share their experiences.

Griefshare class offered Griefshare, a special seminar and group support for people grieving the loss of someone close, will be offered at Encounter Praize at Christ Lutheran Church, Seaford. Griefshare is a non-denominational group that features Biblical teaching on grief and recovery. One class will meet on Friday mornings from 9 to 11 and the second class will meet on Saturday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. Call 629-9755 for details.
