Lightning Strikes concert series The Lightning Strikes concert series, at The Lighthouse Church, located at 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway at Dukes Lumber Road, Laurel, is held every second and fourth Saturday of the month. The First Martyr The First Martyr, an original play that surrounds the life of Jesus Christ, a production of Power Production Ministries, will be presented at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, in the Wicomico Senior High School Auditorium, Salisbury. Salvation Army offers new program The Salvation Army Sussex Chapel has begun a new program this year, Music & Moore for area second and third graders. The goal of the program is to help improve reading skills through Mission: Literacy, a Christian based reading program designed to reinforce reading skills learned at school. Events at All Saint's Church All Saint's Episcopal Church located at 10th and Grove streets in Delmar is offering the following events: Lenten Worship, Fellowship, Study - On Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the church is offering an Order of Worship followed by a soup supper, a DVD presentation and discussion on the topic. Palm Sunday, Holy Week Schedule - March 24-Sunday of the Passion, with the Liturgy of the Palms and the Holy Eucharist, 10 a.m. March 29 - Liturgy for Good Friday followed by the Stations of the Cross, noon and 7 p.m. March 31 - Easter Day: The Sunday of the Resurrection, with the Lighting of the Pascal Candle and the Holy Eucharist, 10 a.m. All are welcome.

Awana Clubs at Alliance Church Awana Clubs are being held at Atlanta Road Alliance Church on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:25 p.m. for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Sparks (K-second grade) ignites the curiosity of early elementary kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. Lenten fish dinners Lenten fish dinners will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Hall, Stein Highway, Seaford, on Friday, March 22 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Cost is $9.

'Fit & Fun Fellowship' The Seaford Wesleyan Women meet once a week for a free night of "Fit & Fun Fellowship." All ladies are welcome to join us as we exercise our bodies and refresh our spirits. Marriage video series Marriage can be the source of our greatest success or our greatest failure. Christ's Church of New Hope wants to help you build a strong marriage with a four part video series, "Making the Most of Your Marriage," by Dr. John Maxwell. Divorce support group DivorceCare¨, a support group for adults experiencing the pain of divorce or separation, will meet on Wednesdays from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. through June 5, at Atlanta Road Alliance Church in Seaford. Childcare is not available, however, children in kindergarten through grade 6 may attend Awana and those in grades 7-12 may attend the youth group. Cost for class materials is $15. Griefshare class offered Griefshare, a special seminar and group support for people grieving the loss of someone close, will be offered at Encounter Praize at Christ Lutheran Church, Seaford. Griefshare is a non-denominational group that features Biblical teaching on grief and recovery. You are welcome to begin attending the Griefshare group at any session. One class will meet on Friday mornings from 9 to 11 and the second class will meet on Saturday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, call 629-9755.

Robert Cameron 5K Central Worship Center located at 14545 Sycamore Rd., Laurel, will hold the Robert Cameron 5K on Saturday, April 13. The event is being held to help Cameron's family which includes his wife Maggie and their five children. Cameron died from major injuries when he fell while working on a building for a local organization.

Packet pick up is the day of the race at 7:30 a.m. The race begins at 9 a.m. Early registration (before April 7) is $30 and includes a t-shirt. Beef and dumpling dinner Mt. Zion Methodist Church has rescheduled the beef and dumpling dinner to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 23. Carryouts will be available at 4 p.m. The church is located on Rt. 13A between Seaford and Laurel.

Christ Evangelistic celebrates 39 years Christ Evangelistic Church located at 9802 Camp Rd., Laurel, was born out of Friday night prayer meetings that grew in number and excitement until a church was born. In 1974 the church began to meet in the sanctuary of Cranston Funeral Home in Seaford. The first Sunday there were 78 people present. In three weeks there were 100 attending and, by faith, a plot of 5 acres of ground was purchased to build a new church. A new sanctuary was built and in 1975 this group of people moved from the funeral home to the new building in Laurel on Camp Road. Thirty nine years later Christ Evangelistic Church is celebrating its 39th anniversary with the purchase of a new sign. The new sign is just one of the many changes taking place at the church.

Eagle's Nest Christian Academy gala Join members of the Eagle's Nest Christian Academy family as they honor the school's founder, Pastor Bill Sammons, with a grand gala on April 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. The evening will feature food by Calypso Catering, a incredible auction, and fellowship with staff, students and members of the community. Pastor Sammons and others will speak on the vision for the school he received from God, how it grew over the last 15 years and future plans. Living Last Supper Drama Gethsemane United Methodist Church invites you to a drama depicting the Last Supper. Actors protraying Jesus and the disciples will take you back in time to experience what it was like when Jesus announced one of the disciples would betray him. Beautiful musical selections will be included. Communion will be offered. The drama will be held on Thursday, March 28, 7 p.m., at Gethsemane United Methodist Church located at 2701 Woodland Ferry Rd., Seaford (4 miles west of Seaford on Rt. 20). Alliance Church Easter Musical The Atlanta Road Alliance Church choir, under the direction of Richard Trice, will present "Eyes of Faith: Seeing and Believing the Messiah," at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, and Easter Sunday at 11 a.m. The musical focuses on Simeon, Judas, Mary Magdalene and Peter and reveals their insights, feelings and emotional responses to the Easter story. Hymn Sing at St. Paul's UMC St. Paul's United Methodist Church invites the community to join us for a night of music at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 24. This month's Hymn Sing will feature Charlie Paparella and the Olivet Church String Band. Come join us for an evening that will lift your spirits. Easter services at St. John's Church St. John's United Methodist Church in Seaford will hold Palm Sunday Services on Sunday, March 24. Join us for a contemporary service at 9 a.m. or a traditional service at 11 a.m. The traditional service will feature the cantata, "Wondrous Love," by Lloyd Larson and the "Rings of Fire" handbells. Guest piano accompanist will be Joy Slavens. Join us in this Palm to Passion service as we enter Holy Week. A Maundy Thursday service will be held on Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m. Joining us in this worship will be our choir and the handbells. Come with us to the cross as we prepare for the resurrection of Christ on Easter. Easter Services will be held on Sunday, March 31 at 9 and 11 a.m. The traditional service will be led by St. John's handbells, the chancel choir and a brass quartet. Holy Week at Seaford Presbyterian Seaford Presbyterian Church Holy Week begins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, with Maundy Thursday Communion and Tenebrae; Friday, March 29 is a Good Friday Prayer Vigil from noon to 3 p.m. Come and go as you please, stay to pray, readings and prayer suggestions available. Holy Week services Holy/Maundy Thursday, March 28 - Centenary United Methodist Church (200 W. Market St., Laurel) will observe Holy Thursday and the Lord's Supper with a Holy Communion Service at the church at 7 p.m. All are welcome to worship with us. Good Friday, March 29 - The Laurel Ministerial Association is sponsoring an ecumenical Good Friday Service at 7 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church (510 S. Central Ave., Laurel). The public is welcome to join us in this solemn observance of the passion and death of our Lord. Easter Sunrise Service, March 31 - The Laurel Ministerial Association will celebrate Easter Sunday with an ecumenical "Sunrise Service" at 6:30 a.m. in Janosik Park, East Front Street, Laurel.
