Consignment Boutique, Art Gallery The Church Mouse Consignment Boutique and Art Gallery, a mission of Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville, is now open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All proceeds go to Union United Methodist Church. Cornerstone Shoppe The Cornerstone Shoppe (a fundraiser) is now open at Christ the Cornerstone Community Church, corner of Bethel and Seaford Rd, Laurel. On sale are collectibles, gifts, toys, Christmas decor and more, jewelry, furniture, and items too numerous to list. Stop in on Thursday from noon to 7 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., or Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to see bargains galore.

Lightning Strikes concert series The Lightning Strikes concert series, at The Lighthouse Church located at 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway at Dukes Lumber Road, Laurel, is held every second and fourth Saturday of the month. Different styles of music are showcased including Christian rock, rap, hip-rock, metal blues and more, as well as audience participation nights. There is a $4 donation at the door and ages 12 and under are free. Don't forget to ask for a "reward card" to save on future admission and shakes. Awana Clubs at Alliance Church Awana Clubs are being held at Atlanta Road Alliance Church on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:25 p.m. for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Sparks (K-second grade) ignites the curiosity of early elementary kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. Open Mike Christian Night Open Mike Christian Night will be held the first and third Friday of the month from 7 to 9 p.m., at The Lighthouse Church, located at 27225 Kaye Rd., just off Rt. 9, County Seat Highway at Dukes Lumber Road. Admission is free and there will be free snacks. Bring your singing talents - CD or musical instrument. Always special guests. One person, group singers, young to seniors welcome. Praise Band wanted A local church in Laurel is looking to start a Praise Band for their 10 a.m. service. If you love God and have musical talent, consider joining us for worship and sharing your talent. Singers, guitars, drums, whatever you can do will be wonderful. We do not have the ability at this time for financial compensation so this will be a volunteer service for now. Contact Julie Lewis of Trinity UMC at 875-4741 for more information.

Mitten Tree at Don's Tree Farm Donations of new hats, scarves, gloves and mittens are needed for a Mitten Tree to help area children. Donations can be dropped off each weekend at Don's Tree Farm, 6396 Hickman Rd., Greenwood. All items will be distributed locally at the Boy & Girls Club and at local schools in association with the Georgetown Presbyterian Church's Tabitha Circle. Call 349-0555 for more information.

Thanksgiving at Old Christ Church Join us for services at Old Christ Church, Laurel, at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22. The Rev. Howard Backus will be the celebrant. Dress casually but warmly because the church is not heated. This historic structure, built in 1771, is a wonderful place to worship and give thanks. We look forward to seeing you there. Murray Family hymn sing St Paul's United Methodist Church invites the public to a hymn sing featuring the music ministry of the Don Murray Family Gospel Band at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25. The Don Murray Family Gospel band features Carol Murray on the bass, Kelly Murray Willing, lead guitar and vocals, Mindy Willing vocals and Seth Wilson on the guitar. The family continues the legacy of Pastor Don Murray with gospel music and his daughter Kelly, shares humorous and inspiring stories of family and faith. A love offering will be taken to benefit their family ministry. Joining the group will be Dave Fluharty on lead guitar and Mark Williams on drums. St Paul's is located on 32827 Old Stage Rd. in Laurel.

Free Thanksgiving dinner Christ United Methodist Church will serve a free Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving day from 3 to 5 p.m. The menu will consist of turkey and all the trimmings, pies and drinks. The church is located at 510 S. Central Ave. in Laurel. For more information, call 536-1864.
