Women's Ministries, Bible Study Women's Ministries and Bible Study meets Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army in Seaford, next to Food Lion. Free weekly soup social A free weekly soup social is held every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 510 S. Central Ave., Laurel. For details call 875-4233.

Gospel Café Every Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. there is a Gospel Cafe in the Fellowship Hall at Laurel Baptist Church. Free Christian entertainment, live bands, local talent.The church is located at 33056 Bi-State Blvd., Laurel.

Old Christ Church schedule Old Christ Church in Laurel announces the following services and events for the remainder of 2011.

Sign language classes Basic/conversational sign language classes will be offered Mondays through Aug. 15, 4:30-5:30 or 6:30-7:30 p.m., at Christ United Methodist Church, 510 S. Central Ave., Laurel. Sportsman's Banquet The 1st Annual Sportsman's Banquet at Laurel Wesleyan Church, Laurel, is Saturday, Aug. 13, from 2 to 7 p.m. The event will be catered by Famous Dave's BBQ and features speaker/comedian Joey Hancock, outdoor activities, hayride, petting zoo and games and includes the following vendors - Gander Mountain, Holly Swamp Taxidermy, Old Hitch Outfitters, Quality Deer Mgmt., and Devastator Game Calls. New phone directory The Centenary United Methodist Women of Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel are preparing a new phone directory for Laurel. Anyone that would like to advertise should call 875-3983.

Summer hours at Centenary During the month of August, Centenary United Methodist Church, Laurel, will have one service each Sunday at 10 a.m.Sunday School for all ages will begin at 9 a.m.Effective Sept. 4, Centenary UMC will return to its normal schedule of Contemporary Worship at 8:45 a.m. and Traditional Worship at 11 a.m. All are welcome to come and worship with us each week.

Outdoor Gospel Concert St. George's UMC on St. George's Road between Delmar and Laurel will host their 3rd annual Outdoor Gospel Concert on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. Talent will be provided by Deep Creek Revival, Pickn Pals, Jimmy Passwaters and Richard Lindale. Food and drinks will be available for sale. Be sure to bring a lawn chair.

Blessing of the Animals Everyone is invited to a Blessing of the Animals at Seaford Presbyterian Church, 701 Bridgeville Hwy., on Sunday, Aug. 14 at 2 p.m. Bring pets on a leash or in a cage. There will be refreshments for pets and their owners.

Crown Biblical Financial Study Do you want to reduce your debt & increase your savings? Do you want to learn God's will for your finances? If so, the Crown Financial Biblical 10 week study is for you. Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Seaford will be offering this study starting Wednesday, Sept. 14. King's Ambassadors in concert The King's Ambassadors will be in concert at Shiloh Community Church on Sunday, Aug. 14 at 6 p.m.

Women's Fellowship Meeting Join us at the KARDIA Women's Fellowship at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, at Maranatha Holistic Gospel Fellowship, 12370 Sussex Hwy., Greenwood. This is a time when women fellowship, while at the same time allowing God to refresh, restore their soul and encourage them to continue on.

Block Party Christ United Methodist Church in Laurel will hold a Block Party in Laurel on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. There will be food, music, school supplies, games, prizes, face painting and fun for everyone. The event is free and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

'Back to School Special' forum Maranatha Holistic Gospel Fellowship Church will host a "Back To School Special" forum on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to noon. The forum will focus on strategies aimed at helping to prepare students for a smooth, successful transition from high school to college. A panel of representatives, including principals, guidance counselors, teachers, clergy, college freshmen, high school students and former students will answer questions and share information with students and parents. School supplies are being collected to distribute to students in preparation for school. Door prizes will also be given away: calculator, dictionary/thesaurus volume and books. VBS for mentally challenged The BSSP Program at Christ Lutheran Church, 315 N. Shipley St., Seaford, will host its summer Vacation Bible School program on Aug. 15-19, for mentally challenged youth and adults. The theme is "SonSurf Beach Bash - Where Students Meet Up With Jesus." A light dinner will be served from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Class is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Bible stories will be told by a storyteller, along with puppets, music, games and crafts. Dukes to speak On Sunday, Aug. 14, Sailors Bethel U.M.Church will be presenting Rusty Dukes of Laurel. He will be speaking on his program, "Reach Out to the World," and his many trips to Jamaica. There will also be other guests to share their stories about how they do God's work and change lives. Please join us for an uplifting hour.

Missions & Kidz Fest Celebration The Laurel Baptist Church and the Gospel Cafe are hosting a Missions & Kidz Fest Celebration on Saturday, August 20, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Everything is free and everyone is invited. There will be live music, games, prizes, crafts, food, face painting, tumblers and fun for all. Come enjoy the last weekend before school starts.
