Celebrate Recovery program Celebrate Recovery, a step program which claims Jesus Christ as its Higher Power, is meeting at St. John's United Methodist Church, Pine and Poplar Streets, on Tuesdays at 7p.m. in Room 14. Skinny Elvis visits IMC Local entertainer Dean Adkins will bring his Elvis music to the Independent Methodist Church on Sunday, July 3. Elvis loved Gospel music and recorded several albums. Mr. Adkins will present at least three of them. The IMC meets Sundays at 10:30 a.m. at The Lighthouse on 27225 Kay Road, just off County Seat Hwy., (Rt. 9), at the Dukes Lumber Road. Women's Ministries, Bible Study Women's Ministries and Bible Study meets Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army in Seaford, next to Food Lion. St. Luke's Newsletter St. Luke's Episcopal Church offers its newsletter online and also via email. Gospel Cafe Every Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. there is a Gospel Cafe in the Fellowship Hall at Laurel Baptist Church. Free Christian entertainment, live bands, local talent. Everyone is welcome. The church is located at 33056 Bi-State Blvd., Laurel.

Old Christ Church schedule Old Christ Church in Laurel announces the following services and events for the remainder of 2011.

  • Sunday, Oct. 23, 3 p.m., Scott Family concert

Ashley Yoder in concert Ashley Yoder will present a Gospel musicconcert at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 8, at Shiloh Community Church. July 4th Prayer Breakfast The Laurel Ministerial Association is sponsoring the July 4th Prayer Breakfast, which kicks off the town's 4th of July celebration, at 7:30 a.m., at the Georgia House in Laurel. Trip to Camden Yards Centenary United Methodist Church (Sunshine Sunday School Class) is sponsoring a baseball trip to Camden Yards, Saturday, Aug. 27, to see the Orioles vs. Yankees.

Game time is 1:05 p.m. Bus leaves Centenary Church parking lot at 8 a.m. Cost of the trip is $55, which includes the bus trip and ticket. Contact Ron Scott at 875-2823.

Men's Conference at Clarence St. Clarence Street Church of God is holding a Men's Conference on Saturday, July 2, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Guest speakers and their subjects will be Bishop Carlton L. Cannon Sr., "Men of Standard;" Min. Francis Bivens, "Mighty Men of God;" Rev. Isaac Ross, "Men of Judah," and Rev. Stanley Ricketts, "Men of Wisdom." There will be door prizes, T-shirts and a light meal. There's no charge, but a freewill offering will be received. All proceeds will benefit the building fund. MEGA Sports Camp Central Worship Center located at 14545 Sycamore Rd., in Laurel, will hold a MEGA Sports Camp for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade, July 25-29 from 9 a.m. to noon. Sportsman's Banquet The 1st Annual Sportsman's Banquet at Laurel Wesleyan Church, Laurel, is Saturday, Aug. 13, from 2 to 7 p.m. The event will be catered by Famous Dave's BBQ and features speaker/comedian Joey Hancock, outdoor activities, hayride, petting zoo and games and includes the following vendors - Gander Mountain, Holly Swamp Taxidermy, Old Hitch Outfitters, Quality Deer Mgmt., and Devastator Game Calls. Outdoor Gospel Musical Festival The 4th Annual Outdoor Gospel Musical Festival will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Old Stage Road, Laurel. Music will be provided by Charlie and The Olivet String Band, Good News Tour, Amanda Jones, Sounds of Joy, Stu and Yvonne Moore, and The Lights of Home. Bring lawn chairs and an appetite as hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade ice cream and much more will be served.
