Annual Fall Hymn Sing
The Galestown U.M.C. Church annual Fall Hymn Sing will take place Sunday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. Special music will be provided by The King's Ambassadors. A buffet style hot dinner will be served immediately following the service at the Galestown Community Center. The Rev. Dan Walker is the minister.

St. Paul's 'Revived' in concert
The new, exciting Southern Gospel group "Revived" will be in concert at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Sunday, Nov. 27. St. Paul's is located on Old Stage Road, Laurel, just east of US 13. Christmas singing celebration
On Friday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m., the Seaford Church of the Nazarene will be hosting a singing celebration of Christmas. There will be local talent singing, refreshments, and the evening will feature the Wilson's, a southern gospel group from Virginia. The church is located at 520 S. Dual Highway in Seaford. 'Holy Spirit and You' seminar
Christ Evangelistic Church, 9802 Camp Road in Laurel will be the site for the Rita Bennett Seminar on Dec. 3 from 8 a.m. through 5:45 p.m. It is a condensed teaching on Dennis' and Rita's very popular book, "The Holy Spirit and You." You must pre-register by calling 629-2248. This message is for men and women and one syllabus per couple may be purchased. This event is sponsored by the Ninety and Nine, a women's ministry affiliated with Epworth Fellowship Church.

Laurel Christmas musical
Laurel Wesleyan Church will be presenting a multigenerational Christmas musical "The Christmas S.O.C.C.E.R. St. Luke's Advent services
Sunday, Nov. 27, marks the beginning of the Advent season. The liturgy and colors are changed and the service is a more somber one in preparation for the celebration of Christ's birth. St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Seaford chooses to use blue (one of the color choices) for candles and appropriate altar, lectern and pulpit hangings. The first candle of the Advent wreath will be lit, the Great Litany will be said and there will be no intercessory prayers.

Church of Christ new minister
The Laurel Church of Christ announces that Donny W. Weimer has come to serve as their new minister as of Nov. 9. Weimer, a native of Texas, comes to Laurel from Valley Mills, Texas. He has been a preacher for 16 years, ministering to congregations of various sizes. Weimer attended East Texas State University and the Brown Trail School of Preaching. Weimer is also a counselor, certified by the National Association of Christian Counselors. He has served in these counseling settings: Family, depression, bipolar, anxiety, grief, sexual addition as well as other emotional/spiritual problems. He invites anyone who needs service in this area to call him at 875-7748. Weimer is the co-director and instructor in the Internet School of Biblical Studies and is the editor of the ISBS e.Journal. He has experience in home Bible studies, as a writer of personal evangelism course materials, as a speaker in weekly radio programs, and as a writer of weekly local and regional newspaper articles. Weimer and his wife, Eileen, have three children, Nicolas, Lucas, and Abigail. The Laurel Church of Christ is located at 1002 S. Central Ave.

Night of praise at Mt. Calvary
Saturday Night Live with the Cannon Family, "Family and Friends in Praise," will take place on Saturday, Nov. 26, at Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, 28 Church St., Bridgeville, at 7 p.m., featuring the following ministering groups: Cannon/Robins Family Choir; Williams Family; Grace and Mercy Mass Choir; New Beginning Choir; and New Beginning Humble Bees. The Ninety and Nine
Sponsored by The Ninety and Nine, Rita Bennett will be teaching a condensed version of her book "The Holy Spirit and You" at an all-day seminar on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Christ Evangelistic Church in Laurel, beginning at 8 a.m. Registrations must be made in advance. Bennett will be preaching at Epworth Fellowship Church in Laurel on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 10:30 a.m. On Sunday, Dec. 4, she will be speaking on emotional freedom at Christ Evangelistic Church in Laurel at 7 p.m. And, on Monday, Dec. 5, she will e sharing her testimony at Living Stones Church in Salisbury at 7 p.m. Known for her work in emotional and spiritual healing, Bennett's ministry has taken her to 11 countries where she has spoken on television, at seminaries and retreats, and taught in hundreds of churches and a number of cathedrals. She and her late husband, Dennis, wrote the million-copy best seller "The Holy Spirit and You." She has also written a book entitled, "You Can Be Emotionally Free."

The joy of Christmas
The Delmar Church of God of Prophecy will present the musical drama production "Sounds Like Christmas." Directed and produced by three-time national Crystal Communicator Award winner Wendy Craig, the production will be performed Dec. 16, 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. with free admission. This is no ordinary "church skit." With full set design, lighting, make up, costumes, singing and choreography it has already proved to be a delightful hit to young and old alike. With a contemporary approach to the Christmas message, this group reminds us to "experience the joy of Christmas." The host pastor of the church is Bishop Michael Phillips. 'One Incredible Moment'
Messiah's Vineyard Church, on US 13 and Discountland Road, Laurel, will present "One Incredible Moment," a cantata directed by pastor Barry Dukes and Ruth Lewis. It will be performed on Saturday, Dec. 10, and Sunday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. The cantata includes a 40-member choir, a drama team, elaborate costumes and sets of the town of Bethlehem.
