Gallery 107 art classes Seaford Gallery 107, 324 High St., Seaford, will hold the following classes in July. For more information, visit nanticokeriverartscouncil.org/Classes.html. Classes are conducted around the corner at 105 Pine St. The Gallery is open 1-5 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Special classes Workshop the week of July 11, held daily, 9 a.m. to noon - Create four abstract projects, including learning how to create a wire tree, a textured background on canvas, a geometrical abstract painting, and a non-objective abstract painting. Children's classes Call Karen Owens at 628-8656 about any upcoming classes in July and August. Ongoing classes Open Studio Time - Mondays except for July 11, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Open studio time for artists of all media who wish to work in a group setting. The open studio is available for ages 16 and older who like to paint with others. No instruction will be available although you can learn more in a group setting. Cost is $5. Canvas and Coffee - Fridays (except July 15), 10 a.m. to noon - Canvas and Coffee with Tammy Kearney and Nancy Laprad, $5.

Movie Night at Mt. Olivet The City of Seaford and Mt. Olivet UMC are teaming up for a free movie night on July 15 at 8 p.m. A G-rated movie will be shown, so all family members are welcome to attend. It will be held in the Mt. Olivet parking lot, so please bring lawn chairs with you. Light refreshments will be served and the movie will begin at 8:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Seaford Museum features 3-D photo exhibit This summer, the Seaford Museum will be exhibiting a wonderful photo exhibit of 3-D photographs by local photographer Gene Bleile. These photos appear to be almost paintings, concentrating on certain parts of the overall makeup of the image. "These images are magnificent - so unique in their composition. This is an exhibit, that the community needs to see. Mr. Bleile is so well known in the area, and yet hardly anyone knew of his abilities as a photographer and printer. It is a wonderful exhibit," said Jim Blackwell, Curator of the Seaford Museum. The museum is located in the old post office downtown and is open Thursday through Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m.

Boat parade for Riverfest This year's boat parade for Nanticoke Riverfest is Friday night, July 8. All boats - canoes, kayaks, rowboats, powerboats, etc. - are welcome to participate. Register by contacting Tom McGean at tjmpe@comcast.net. The group will meet at the Webb Picnic Pavilion at the Nanticoke River Marine Park in Blades at 6:30 p.m. for a captain's meeting and then set sail. The parade will be at the Riverwalk at 7:30 p.m. to wave and greet viewers. From there, it will go under the bridge, turn around, go back under the bridge, and make its way back to the marina. Music at the main stage starts at 8:30 p.m., which gives participants and viewers time to enjoy an evening of music after the parade.

A Night At The Movies Bring your family and enjoy a free, family friendly movie at The Lighthouse, 27225 Kaye Rd., Laurel, every second and fourth Friday of the month. Mega Sports Camp Join us for a free Mega Sports Camp at Central Worship Center, 14545 Sycamore Rd., Laurel, July 18-22 from 9 a.m. to noon. Annual Father Daughter Dance The 3rd Annual Father Daughter Dance, Butterfly Kisses, will be held at the Delmar Fire Department on Saturday, July 9 from 2-5 p.m. Dads, grandpas, uncles, etc. are all welcome. Art classes offered From the Studio in Bridgeville offers the following art classes: Art, Food and Friends - The third Tuesday of each month from 6:30-9 p.m. at Cafe Tamburelli's in Greenwood. Summer Reading fun at the library The summer fun continues with free programs at all three Caroline County Public Library locations.
  • Kids get to join the fun when The Uncle Devin Show, whose mission is to convey universal principles of love through their live music experiences, presents "Journey through the Land of Percussion," on Thursday, July 7 at 11 a.m. at the North County Greensboro branch and again at 2 p.m. at the Federalsburg branch.
  • The Bright Star Touring Theatre presents "Aesop's Fables" on Monday, July 11 at 11 a.m. at the Central Library in Denton. From The Fox and the Grapes to the The Lion and the Mouse, these animal-filled adventures focus on honesty, compassion, hard work and kindness.
  • Kids age 5-8 and their caregivers are invited to get in the Olympic spirit with Library Olympics! Test your skills in a variety of events based on favorite nursery rhymes, fairy tales and books. This program will be offered at the North County Greensboro branch on Thursday, July 14 at 10:30 a.m. (register at 410-482-2173).

Bus trip to see comedy play The Greenwood CHEER Activity Center is offering a motor coach trip to the Rainbow Comedy Playhouse in Paradise, Pa. to see the comedy play, Perfect Wedding, on Wednesday, Aug. 3. 9-12 Delaware Patriots meetings The 9-12 Delaware Patriots meet twice monthly to discuss local, statewide and national issues, legislation, current events and upcoming elections.
