Nanticoke Weight Loss & General Surgery will host weight loss seminars on Monday, June 12 at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Nanticoke Training Center located within the Miller Building at 121 S. Front St., Seaford. These free seminars are designed to provide education to individuals considering weight loss surgery to help them make informed decisions on whether surgery is an appropriate option.
The seminars will consist of educational presentations by Dr. Tarek Waked to inform individuals about the many benefits of weight loss surgery. Patients and their spouses, family members or friends are welcome to attend. Registration is required.

CHF Support Group

Nanticoke Memorial Hospital will hold a Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) support group on Thursday, June 22 from noon to 2 p.m., in the Nursing Conference Room at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. This free support group is designed for individuals who have congestive heart failure as well as their families and caregivers.
This month's meeting will feature a presentation by Donna DeLuca, MS, RD, LDN, clinical dietitian at Nanticoke. Attendees are encouraged to bring their medications to receive a free pharmacy consultation. A light lunch will be provided. Safe Sitter Class

Nanticoke Memorial Hospital will host a Safe Sitter class on Saturday, June 24 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Nursing Conference Room. These classes are open to pre-teens and teenagers between 11 and 13 years of age who are interested in learning child care essentials and safety.
The Safe Sitter¨ course is designed to train pre-teens and teenagers how to be safe baby/child sitters. Components include infant/child development and care, safety, injury prevention, first aid, accident management, emergency protocol, rescue breathing and choking management. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises.

The cost for the Safe Sitter¨ class is $35 per student, which includes the class and all materials needed. Pre-registration is required.

Parkinson's Support Group Nanticoke Health Services, in conjunction with CHEER and Care DE and the Manor House, will hold a Parkinson's education and support group on Thursday, June 15 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Manor House in Seaford. The support group is free and open to the public.
This support group is not only helpful for the individual diagnosed with PD, but also for caregivers, friends and family. Group members welcome guest speakers on a variety of subjects related to PD and provide support to each other through other small group discussions.

Lymphedema Support Group

Nanticoke Rehabilitation Services hosts lymphedema support groups on the third Thursday of each month at the Seaford Library and Cultural Center from 1:30 to 3 p.m. The next meeting is Thursday, June 15.
This free support group is open to anyone affected by lymphedema including patients, caregivers, and relatives. Meetings will consist of a lecture by health care professionals and medical equipment providers followed by refreshments and an open question and answer session or discussion amongparticipants. Bariatric support group

Nanticoke Weight Loss & General Surgery hosts bariatric support groups the first Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and the fourth Monday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m., in the Medical Staff Conference Room at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. Meetings will be held in June on Monday, June 26.
This free support group is designed to provide education and support to patients before and after their bariatric weight loss surgery and is open to the public.
Support group meetings consist of guest speakers and presentations to provide useful information about nutrition, supplements, exercise and behavior modifications.
Patients and their spouses, family members or friends are welcome to attend. Registration is not required.
