Dredging complete - The equipment shown for the dredging of the Nanticoke River is being packed away. In the past two weeks 55,000 cubic yards of spoils were pumped from the bottom of the river and deposited on land that was the Woodland Golf Park. Sussex County Professional Engineer Michael Izzo said the operation was carried out along the Nanticoke for 7,200 linear feet from an area near Woodland in toward Seaford. The mean low water depth of from 12 to 14 feet was cleared away 100 feet wide. The operation cost $2.4 million, paid for by the Army Corps of Engineers.
