RETURN DAY - Vice-President elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. waves to the crowd from a carriage to start the Return Day parade. Biden led off the parade. He and his wife, Jill, rode in a white carriage that was pulled by two gray ponies. For most of the way, he hung out the carriage door, standing on the running board, one hand holding onto the carriage roof and the other waving at the crowd.
