Centenary Cantata tonight
Centenary United Methodist Church, Laurel, will present its annual cantata tonight, Dec. 20, 7 p.m. The cantata is titled, “Jesus, Our Emmanuel.” The church is located at Poplar and Market streets, Laurel.
Shop to help building fund
Christ the Cornerstone Community Church is sponsoring a Christmas shop for holiday buying. All proceeds go to the church building fund.
The shop is open noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. It is located at 28714 Seaford Road, on the corner of Seaford and Bethel Roads.

Guest preacher to speak
Brother Soul of the Spiritual Tones will preach at the United Church of the Nazarene, 103 Pine St., Seaford, Sunday, Dec. 23, 4 p.m.
He is from the Healing Hand Christian Church in Felton.

Christmas Eve service set
Seaford Presbyterian Church, 701 Bridgeville Highway, will hold a Christmas Eve service a day early, on Sunday, Dec. 23, at 7:30 p.m.
This service of music, Scripture, candlelight and communion is designed for those who have to work on Christmas Eve.
A time of fellowship will follow the service.

St. Luke’s plans services
The Christ Mass, Festival Holy Eucharist for the whole family, will be observed on the eve of the nativity at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Front and King streets, Seaford, Dec. 24.
The service will begin at 7 p.m. with music provided by the choir, and soloists from within the parish.
Musical presentations will be made by young parishioners.
The church school children will enter at the beginning of the Holy Eucharist and will be dressed in costumes appropriate to the time of the birth of Jesus.
Ceil Petoney and Lisa Lee are adult coordinators.
On Christmas morning at 9 a.m., a quiet Eucharist will be held in the sanctuary.
A Festival of Carols will be held on Sunday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. This service will preclude the 8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. regular services.
A Christmas cookie coffee hour will follow the service. Parishioners are requested to bring remaining cookies to share.
Sunday, Jan. 6, the Feast of the Epiphany will be observed at the 8 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite One service, and also at the 10:15 Holy Eucharist, Rite Two, service.
At 6 p.m., the Southern Delaware Episcopal Churches celebrate Epiphany at St. Stephen’s, Harrington.
The Rev. Jeanne Wise Kirby will be officiant at each service, assisted by parishioners who will serve as chalicists, readers, proclaimers, sub-deacons, and acolytes.
New Zion services set
The New Zion United Methodist Church, 430 West 6th St., Laurel, will hold a Christmas Eve Service, Dec. 24, at 7 p.m.
Watchnight Service will be held Monday, Dec. 31, at 10:30 p.m. Dinner will follow the service.

Church celebrates season
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Seaford, is planning the following holiday services:
On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, the Family Liturgy will be held at 5:30 and midnight Mass, with music by the choir, will start at 11:30 p.m. Christmas Day Masses will be at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Confessions will be held on Friday, Dec. 21, 6 to 8 p.m.
To celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, masses will be held Monday, Dec. 31, at 7:30 p.m., and Tuesday, Jan. 1, 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Jericho plans Jan. meeting
Ethel Williams will speak at the regular meeting of Jericho Fellowship International Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m.
Williams, who has more than 30 years in Christian ministry, is a pastor with her husband, Leon Williams, at the Refuge Temple Revival Center in Seaford.
Williams has conducted evangelistic meetings all over the U.S. and Mexico and has worked in underground ministry in Saudi Arabia.
She served for years in the local Aglow as worship leader and later as its president. She conducts street meetings in the Third Street area in Seaford.
More recently she has traveled with the Jericho team to Eldoret, Kenya, for the “Fire of the Spirit” crusades. She also served on a team that just returned from Haiti.
She is a member of the International board of directors for Jericho Fellowship International.

Promise Keepers plan breakfast
An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served by the Centenary Promise Keepers, at Centenary United Methodist Church, Laurel, Saturday, Jan. 5, 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. The menu will include eggs, orange juice, sausage, pancakes, potatoes and coffee. Proceeds will benefit the group’s college scholarship fund.
Cost for adults is $5 and for children 6 to 12, $3. Children under age 6 are admitted free.
St. Paul’s plans program
St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Laurel, will present a children’s program and adult play, “What Christmas Means to You,” Sunday, Dec. 23, 7 p.m.
