Seaford Santa hours
The Seaford Kiwanis Club is bringing Santa to town for visits with children. Santa’s house is at Seaford Village Shopping Center in the Peebles parking lot.
  • Friday, Dec. 20, 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 21, 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 22, 4 to 6 p.m.
  • Monday, Dec. 23, 6 to 8 p.m.
Electrical problems last week caused problems for Santa’s schedule. The problems have been corrected and Santa is ready to visit with children.

Winter Alumni Social
The Executive Board invites you to spend time with classmates and fellow Alumni, at the Seaford Golf & Country Club, Dec. 27, from 4-7 pm., to revel in fond memories and retell “fantastic” stories about our school days. Bring a friend who is a Seaford High School graduate, has attended Seaford Schools, or has an interest in the Alumni Association. You don’t have to be a member to attend. Light snacks and a cash bar will be available.

Fitness for New Year
Do the next right thing! Make that time to re-energize, get fit and have fun with new and old friends. Classes start on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 6 and 7, and are held at St. John’s United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall (sponsored by St. John’s but open to the public). Monday-Wednesday-Friday, 9 a.m. (a.m. only, FREE Quality child-care) and Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30 p.m. Beginners to advanced participants welcome in this co-ed, non-competitive, muscle-toning, stretching/Hi-lo aerobic class. NLL Basket Raffle
The Nanticoke Little League is sponsoring a Longaberger Basket Raffle. One $5.00 ticket buys you 28 chances to win a new Longaberger Basket. Baskets include the Small and Large Sweetheart baskets, Easter Basket combos, Tarragon Booking basket and several others. The raffle will be held Feb. 1-28. If the number on your ticket matches the Delaware Lottery Play 3 EVENING drawing number, you win a basket. Tickets are now on sale and make great Christmas gifts. Father/Daughter Dance
The second Annual Father/Daughter Valentine’s Dance will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, from 7-10 p.m., where fathers and father figures and their daughters are invited to dance the night away and spend some quality time together. The dance will be held at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church on High Street in Seaford. The church’s Fellowship Hall will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland. So plan on putting on your fancy duds and your dancing shoes and enjoying the DJ, decorations and refreshments. Tickets are $5 per person and only 150 will be sold so don’t delay in making your plans. Each family is asked to bring a baked good or treat to share and special keepsake pictures will be available for purchase. The dance is for fathers/ father figures and daughters only, but mothers who may want to help may contact the dance committee. So dust off those shoes, practice your jitterbug, learn the chicken dance and get ready for a great time with your special girls! Tickets will go on sale Jan. 2, and will probably sell quickly. You may purchase tickets at the Mt. Olivet Church Office (629-4458), Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; or David and Becky Genshaw (629-9014), or from any committee member.

Library holiday hours
The Seaford District Library will be closing at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 24.
The Seaford Library will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31.

Babies and Toddlers
The “Parents As Teachers” program invites parents and their children from birth to age three to a free “Stay and Play Center” at Seaford Dept. of Parks & Recreation (SDPR) on Virginia Avenue. Sessions are on Mondays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. (Closed on school holidays.) Other services include a lending library of children’s and parenting books and evening group meetings on a variety of topics. Call Cris Henderson at 875-2781 or SDPR at 629-6809.

Blue Mountain Ski Trip
