Christmas Eve service Dec. 23
Seaford Presbyterian Church, 701 Bridgeville Highway, will hold its Christmas Eve service Monday, Dec. 23, 7 p.m., to accommodate people who work or volunteer on Christmas Eve. A half-hour concert of Christmas music by Lori Miller and friends will precede the service of music, scripture, candlelight and communion. For details, call 629-9077. Thrift Shop extends hours
St. John’s Community Thrift Shop, 259 Conwell St., Seaford, has extended hours for Christmas shoppers. The shop is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with specials on Thursday. The shop needs volunteers. Call 629-9466 for details.

Centenary plans cantata
Centenary United Methodist Church, Market and Poplar streets, Laurel, is holding a children’s Christmas cantata Sunday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m.

St. Luke’s collecting gifts
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Front Street, Seaford, is accepting gifts for the Associated Charities and Salvation Army. Gifts may be dropped off at the parish office. The church is also participating in the Angel Tree Project, through which parishioners buy gifts for children of prisoners. For details, call , 629-7979.
Mt. Calvary to serve breakfast
Mt. Calvary AME Church, Concord, will host a breakfast Saturday, Dec. 21, beginning at 7 a.m. Admission cost is $5. This event is sponsored by the Men of Mt. Calvary. For more information, contact John Oliver at 629-9722.

Church to present pageant
Bridgeville Church of God will present its annual Christmas celebration Sunday, Dec. 22, at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. This year’s production, “A Star Is Born,” is a musical drama about the birth of Jesus Christ. The drama, written and directed by Lou Altizer, features Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Mary’s parents, shepherds, angels, an inn keeper, a stable boy, talking sheep and a wise old owl. Admission is free. Gethsemane plans services
Gethsemane United Methodist Church will hold two services on Christmas Eve. The family service, for all ages including children, will begin at 8 p.m., and the traditional service will begin at 11 p.m.
