Joe Conaway new SCAT president
The Sussex County Association of Towns elected new officers for 2004. The president will be Joe Conaway, president, Bridgeville Town Commission. The first vice president will be Sam Cooper, mayor of the City of Rehoboth Beach. The second vice president will be Joseph “Ronnie” Rogers, mayor of the City of Milford. The administrative secretary is Robin Griffith, Clerk of the Sussex County Council. The Sussex County Association of Towns is made up of the 25 municipalities of Sussex County and the Sussex County Council. The association meets monthly, usually on the first Wednesday of each month. The association has a legislative program designed to protect the interests of the residents of our communities and works very closely with state senators and representatives who represent the various municipalities in Sussex County.

The Woodbridge Middle School Student Council sponsored a book fair at the Woodbridge Jr./Sr. High School for the first time in several years sponsored by Scholastic Book Clubs. The week of Dec. 8-12 featured books, posters and much fun stuff for the kids. Seventh grade language arts teachers Laina Betts-Massey and Rhiannon O’Neal organized the event which included a family night for the book fair.
