Opportunity Award Applicants
Soroptimist International of Seaford, Inc. a volunteer service organization for business and professional women, has scholarship applications available for the ‘Women’s Opportunity Awards Program.’
Since 1972, the Soroptimist Women’s Opportunity Awards program has aided women who, as head of their households, must enter the work force or upgrade their employment status.
The Seaford club will provide a cash grant to the award winner’s chosen school enabling her to offset any costs associated with her efforts to attain higher education or additional skills and training — such as books, child care and transportation costs.
The winner will then advance to the Soroptimist Mid-Atlantic Region level, where additional cash grants will be awarded.
