Bovine kiss is all for a good ‘cow’se
The youth group from Wesley United Methodist Church, Atlanta Road, Seaford, held a Kiss the Cow contest in October. Nominations were accepted from the congregation of names of people who should kiss a cow. The congregation got to vote for their favorite candidate by putting money in a jar each week. The top three vote-getters were pastor Ed Kuhling, Linda Tifft and Barbara Widdowson. At the end of the contest, Widdowson, who was the candidate with the most money in her jar, won the honor of kissing Sarah the cow at the farm of Allen and Sondra Messick. After the church service on Oct. 27, the entire congregation gathered to witness the event. The youth raised $476.70 to help them attend a youth rally in Ocean City, Md., in January.
