Education Week is coming The Seaford Central Elementary PTA is celebrating National American Education Week through Friday, Nov. 19. On Thursday, teachers will share experiences from their days as elementary students. On Friday, the PTA plans a day of surprises for the teachers. Alumni meeting scheduled The Seaford High School Alumni Association will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Boys and Girls Club on Virginia Avenue. Senior center bazaar set The Nanticoke Senior Center, 310 Virginia Ave., Seaford, will have a Christmas bazaar and bake sale on Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All items have been made by members of the center. For details, call 629-4939. Learn to Read-Aloud A Read-Aloud Delaware volunteer training session will be held Tuesday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m., in the Seaford Public Library, Seaford. Volunteer readers are needed at various reading sites in Sussex County. Call 856-2527 for further information. Fiction's homeless come to life "Comfort Me With Apples,"an original dramatic portrayal of homeless characters throughout literature, will be presented at the Seaford Public Library Friday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. The play is a two-act presentation featuring six homeless characters who are based on the works of authors such as T.S. Eliot, Zora Neale Hurston, Flannery O'Connor and Maya Angelou. Scholar-performer Betty Jean Steinhouer brings to life six people who will share their life stories and tell how homelessness has affected them. Admission is free, but donations of canned and dry food will be accepted to be distributed to shelters. Juniors to present play
The junior class of Seaford High School will present "Stuart Little," a play based on the book by E.B. White, Friday, Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for children under 12 are $2, $3 at the door. Tickets for adults are $3, $4 at the door.

Club to award citizenship
Soroptimist International of Seaford is offering an award to high school seniors living in the Seaford School District.
The Youth Citizenship Award recognizes high school seniors for their contributions to home, school, community and state. First-place winner receives $550 and second-place winner receives $450. For further information call Cathy Vansciver at 629-8740.

Parade set for Dec. 4
Downtown Seaford will host its annual Christmas parade Saturday, Dec. 4, beginning at 7 p.m. (line-up begins at 5:30). Rain date is Sunday, Dec. 5, 2 p.m.
The parade will line up at Nylon Boulevard and march down Pennsylvania Avenue and High Street to Market Street. For details, call Toby French, 629-5331.

Former beauty queens sought
The Seaford Lioness Club is looking for past Little Miss and Miss Seaford winners to be recognized at the club's Year 2000 pageant. Anyone who is interested in participating may contact Toni Cocilovo at 629-5353.
SCA to present play
Seaford Christian Academy's Fall Semester production of "Play On," a comedy by Rick Abbott and directed by Danielle Hofstetter, will be presented Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19 and 20, at 7:30 p.m.
When character Phyllis Montague decides to have her original play performed, the actors and their director run into many unanticipated obstacles. Actors blunder through their last few rehearsals of "Murder Most Foul," a play not even the playwright knows the end to.
The doors open Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets will be on sale at the door. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Little League to hold bingo
Nanticoke Little League's fall fund raiser will be a holiday basket bingo featuring Christmas and other Longaberger baskets. The bingo will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club on Virginia Avenue, Seaford. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with games starting at 7 p.m. Refreshments, door prizes and a Beanie Baby raffle will be held.
Tickets are available in Seaford at Linda & Company Hair Designs, Culver's Nationwide Insurance Office or by calling John Puma at 628-3440. Tickets are also available at the door. Cost is $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

AAUW to hold auction
The Seaford Branch of the American Association of University Women will be holding its annual holiday auction on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. at the home of Joyce Mackler. Members are asked to donate two items for the auction.
Homemade crafts, baked goods and other items have been auctioned off in previous years. All proceeds from the auction benefit the AAUW scholarship fund. Guests are welcome to attend with members. New members are also welcome. Call Diane LeCompte at 629-2249 for more information and reservations.

Church to hold fund raiser
Mt. Calvary AME Church will hold a "Night of Elegance" Saturday, Dec. 4, 5 p.m., at the Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club, Seaford. The semi-formal event is for people 16 and older and will feature entertainment, door prizes and an on-site photographer. Tickets are $25 per person. Proceeds will benefit the church's building fund. SDPR to go to New York
Seaford Department of Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a trip to Radio City Music Hall, New York City, Sunday, Dec. 5. Tickets, which include transportation, are $74. For details, call 629-6809.
