Concert Series begins
The Seaford Community Concert Association will begin its 2000-2001 concert series on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 8 p.m. in the Seaford High School Auditorium. The concert will feature Joe Burgstaller.
Joe Burgstaller has performed with the Phoenix Symphony and Pops Orchestra conducted by Doc Severinson. His music has taken him across the world with performances in 28 states and 11 different countries. Many of those tours have been with an acclaimed brass quintet and percussion group called the Meridian Arts Ensemble. He has been the composer and the arranger for music for this group.
Burgstaller will share his considerable talent with the youth of our community. His two-day schedule includes two rehearsals with the Seaford High School Band. He will also provide seminars in music to the students. This will culminate in the Seaford High School band members actually joining him in his concert.
The opportunity for the community to support their students will enhance the students' self-esteem. The way to provide this support and show gratitude to Mr. Burgstaller is to attend the concert.
Season tickets are still available at $32 per person or $65 per person for the five concert series. The cost per concert is actually less than the cost of a movie ticket at the local theater.
In addition, the concert is guaranteed to be rated G. For more information on season tickets contact: Jim Burkett at 629-8657; or Marian Barr at 645-6817.
