Harley Raffle to benefit NMH emergency room
Tickets for the Harley - Ford Raffle, to benefit the expansion and renovation of Nanticoke Memorial Hospital's Emergency Room, are on sale in a variety of locations, including online. The grand prize is a 2003 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Limited Edition Supercrew Pickup, a 2003 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail, an enclosed East Tennessee Titan Trailer, and a helmet. The prize items were donated by David G. Horsey & Sons Inc. All proceeds will be used for the renovation and expansion of the Emergency Room at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. Tickets are $20 each and are available at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital Gift Shop, Frederick Ford, and online at www.harleyraffle.org. Order forms are also available at businesses throughout the area. Volunteers are also looking for businesses and events to display the grand prize and sell tickets. Jewelry Fair
The Nanticoke Health Services Auxiliary will have a Jewelry Fair in the main lobby of the hospital on Monday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Available will be 14-kt. gold, sterling silver, semi-precious stones, gemstones, and more. Proceeds will benefit the medical facilities.

Firemen’s Auxiliary
The Sussex County Volunteer Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliaries Association will be holding their meeting on Nov. 19, at the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. with the business meeting to follow.

Photographers meeting
Delaware Professional Photographers (an affiliate of Professional Photographers of America) will be having their annual round table program on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will feature programs from Dennis Mignogno on forensic photography, Keith Mosher on photo journalistic weddings, and Mac Rayne on creative vision. CHEER Basket Bingo
A Basket Bingo to benefit the CHEER Community Center will be held at the center, on Tuesday, Nov. 18. Doors open at 6 p.m., Bingo starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door. Food is donated by Jimmy’s Grille. Tickets can be purchased in advance at: CHEER Community Center, located on the corner of Route 9 and Sandhill Road, Georgetown, open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. For more information call Barbara at 854-9500.

Basket Bingo
Millville Ladies Auxiliary presents Basket Bingo, Thursday, Nov. 20. Doors open 6 p.m., Bingo begins at 7 p.m. sharp, held at the Millville firehouse. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door (admission price includes a chance on 2003 Christmas tradition combo). For information and tickets contact Janet at 539-7453, or Janice at 539-7612. Roadhouse support
The Roadhouse Steak Joint will support the Midland Grange #27, Georgetown, on Wednesday, Nov. 26. The Roadhouse will donate a portion of the day’s receipts to the Midland Grange. Funds raised form the effort will be used for community projects. The Roadhouse Steak Joint is located on Route 1, Midway Shopping Center, Rehoboth Beach.
Studio Tour
The 9th Annual Southeastern Delaware Artists Studio tour, held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 28 and 29, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., is a free, self-guided tour of studios of 15 artists and artisans in Sussex County. Call 732-6172 for information, or check new website: www.artstudiotour.com.

NMH basket sale
The Nanticoke Memorial Hospital 2003 American Traditions handwoven baskets have been put on sale. Dot Dixon, co-chair of the kiosk at the hospital, in answer to many requests for a candy basket ordered one especially to fit your needs, be it in your home or on your desk at work. It has a lovely engraved brass plate with the hospital’s name and logo as well as the year 2003. As an added bonus, this green and natural wood basket with leather handles includes a protector for the special price of only $25. Just in time for your holiday decorating and that special someone on your Christmas list. CHEER bazaar
The Warren L. and Charles C. Allen, Jr., CHEER Community Center will have a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the CHEER Community Center at the intersection of Rt. 9 and Sand Hill Road, just outside of Georgetown. Epworth senior class craft show on Nov. 29
The senior class of Epworth Christian School is hosting its third annual “Christmas in the Country” Craft Show after Thanksgiving on Saturday, Nov. 29. The show will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Epworth Christian School. Crafters will be offering freehand painted antiques, quilts, dried herbs, floral arrangements, handmade cards, Christmas wreaths, and a wide assortment of other crafts. The seniors will be serving vegetable soup and chicken salad sandwiches, along with other refreshments. in the school cafeteria. Vendors needed
The Class of 2006 at Sussex Technical High School is seeking vendors for their Santa’s Workshop on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 4 and 5. Vendors should have for sale items appropriate for high school students to purchase as Christmas gifts for their family and friends. It is suggested that items be sold for approximately $10 or less. The workshop will be set up each day in the Commons Area of the school outside the cafeteria during all three lunch periods from 11:30 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. Tables cost $10 each or $12 if electricity is needed. Winter Gala
The Auxiliary of Nanticoke Health Services Winter Gala entitled “Champagne and Roses” will take place at the Seaford Golf and Country Club on Saturday, Jan. 24. Dance committee chairpersons Patricia Olekszyk and Sherry Michalik welcomes everyone to come eat, drink and enjoy the evening entertainment and dancing. Driver Safety program
An AARP Driver Safety Course for people 50 and over will be given from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 1 and 2, at the Methodist Manor House, 1001 Middleford Road, Seaford. The two-day program, sponsored by the American Association for Retired Persons, stresses how older drivers may operate vehicles safely. Upon completion of the program, participants receive a certificate entitling them to a reduction in their auto insurance. A 15 percent reduction is given to anyone repeating the program within three years. For information and registration call 629-8081. The cost is $10 per person.
