Kids' Club set for every Wednesday
Christ United Methodist Church, Laurel, is hosting a weekly, after-school fellowship group for children called Kids' Club.
The weekly fellowship group will include safe homework hours, tutoring, meals, music, recreation and crafts. The club will meet on each Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The Rev. Dr. Brooks Reynolds of Christ United Methodist Church welcomes the children of the community to join the activities and fellowship.

Wesleyan Church plans family fall weekend
Laurel Wesleyan Church will host a "Fabulous Fall Family Weekend" Nov. 12-14. The following events have been planned:
Friday, Nov. 12 - community gospel sing at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 13 - Family games and movie night. A children's movie as well as a movie for the adults, "A Vow To Cherish," will be shown.
Sunday, Nov. 14 - Friend Day. Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; morning worship at 10:30 a.m.; pot-luck dinner at noon; baptismal service at 1 p.m.

Lights of Home to be at Bethel homecoming
Bethel United Methodist Church will have its homecoming service on Sunday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m.
Guest singers will be The Lights of Home. Speaker will be pastor Richard Walton. A beef and dumpling dinner will follow the service.

Mt. Calvary AME to hold fall revival
A fall revival, "Reclaiming the Fire of the Pentecost Experience," will be held at Mt. Calvary AME Church, Concord, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m.
Pastor Carolyn Vessel of Way of Life AME Church, Chicago, Ill., will speak. Sponsor is the Steward Board.

Portsville Church to fall hold bazaar
The annual fall bazaar sponsored by the Portsville Church United Methodist Women will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church hall. Lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m. featuring vegetable soup, oyster fritters, chicken salad and hot dog sandwiches, and home made pie.
There will be a bake table, country store, white elephant table and new and used apparel.
The church is located 3 miles west of Laurel at the intersection of Portsville and Kenney Roads.

Sale to benefit flood damage fund Nov. 13
Seaford Presbyterian Church is sponsoring a private moving and yard sale to benefit its flood damage fund.
This sale will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13, 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., at the Eastern Star building, corner of Stein Highway and N. Pine Street Ext.
During Floyd the basement was flooded with 29 inches of water, which damaged Sunday school rooms, kitchen and reception hall.

Bethany Church to hold homecoming
Bethany Church, Lowes Crossroads near Millsboro, will hold its homecoming celebration Nov. 14, with service at 1:30 p.m.
Guest speaker is the Rev. Mark Avens and music will be by the Long Neck Bell Choir. Dinner will follow the service.

Puppets for Christ to appear in cafe
Marvin S. Steele, puppeteer, will appear at the Cafe Sarajevo, 413 High St., Seaford, with his Puppets for Christ on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m.

Reynolds is honored on his 84th birthday
The congregation of Christ United Methodist Church honored their pastor, the Rev. Dr. Brooks E. Reynolds, on Sunday, Oct. 31, in celebration of his 84th birthday.
Bea Simonds donated a set of candelabras, candle lighters and one-year supply of candles in his honor. The Rev. Serling Green, district superintendent, dedicated the gifts and gave the sermon at the 11 a.m. service. Following the service, birthday cake and punch were served in the church hall.

Our Lady of Lourdes plans holiday bazaar
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Stein Highway, Seaford, will host its annual Christmas bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 13, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Lunch will be served. A raffle to win cash will also be held.

Line Church to host bake sale Nov. 13
Line Church, Whitesville Road, Delmar, will sponsor a breakfast, lunch and bake sale on Saturday, Nov. 13, 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Featured will be oysters sandwiches, homemade ice cream, homemade soup and peas and dumplings.

Trinity UMC to hold hymn sing
A hymn sing will be held at historic Trinity Church, Dublin Hill Road, Bridgeville, Sunday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m.
Singers will be the Veasey family, Bud, Scott and Everett Warrington.

Shiloh plans revival service Nov. 14
Shiloh Community Church, Laurel, will hold its fall revival with a special dedication service on Sunday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m.

Laurel Ministerium to meet Nov. 17
The Greater Laurel Ministerium will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 8:45 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, W. Market Street, Laurel.
Agenda items will include the final plans for the community Thanksgiving service on Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Centenary U.M. Church and planning for the community Christmas celebrations and caroling in Market Square Park.

Trip to Sight & Sound theater is planned
Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Laurel, is sponsoring a trip to "The Miracle of Christmas Show" at the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pa. on Saturday, Dec. 18.
The cost of $71 includes transportation by Savages' bus service, buffet meal, ticket to the show, shopping stop at Rockvale Mall and a short tour of holiday lighting in Lancaster.
