Adult Plus+ craft show
Get a head start on your holiday shopping at the 19th Annual Craft Fair hosted by Delaware Technical & Community College, Owens Campus, Georgetown, on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the William A. Carter Partnership Center. Admission is free; there will be door prizes and refreshments. More than 100 crafters from several states will offer everything from floral arrangements, country gifts, woodwork, and ceramics to needlework, jewelry, dolls, clothing, and more. Call 856-5618.
AARP Chapter meeting
AARP Chapter 1084 meets Thursday, Nov. 14, at 1:30 at the Methodist Manor House. Tom Brown of Nanticoke Memorial Hospital will be the guest speaker. Visitors are welcome.
Basket Bingo Nov. 15
Salisbury Metro Lions Club will host a Basket Bingo on Friday, Nov. 15, at the Moose Lodge, Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, to benefit Sight and Hearing programs. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; Games begin at 6:30 p.m. Prizes include Longaberger Baskets and more.Tickets are: $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Refreshments available during event. Snethen Church Social
Snethen United Methodist Church, Mardela Springs, Md., is holding a Church Social on Nov. 9, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Food available will be Sandwiches - Oyster, Chicken Salad, Hamburger and Hot Dog; Platters -Oyster, chicken salad, potato salad, green beans, and roll; baked goods, vegetable soup and dumplings; homemade ice cream. The church is located on Rt. 54, 2 miles east of the Rt. 50 stoplight at Mardela; or 8 miles west of the Rt. 13 stoplight at Delmar.
State Boating Class
The Nanticoke River Yacht Club in conjunction with BEDCO is sponsoring a Delaware State Boating Class at the NYRC building in Blades on Tuesday, Nov. 12, and Thursday, Nov. 14, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Any Delaware resident born after Jan. 1, 1978, must complete this course to operate a boat on state waters. Also, anyone who must take the helm in an emergency situation should have this course. The fee is $8.
