Seaford Block Watch
The Olde Seaford Block Watch will meet on Thursday, Nov. 13, in the downstairs meeting room at the Seaford Police station at 7 p.m. Representatives form the Seaford Mission will attend to give an update. Refreshments will be served and all neighborhood groups are welcome. Phone 629-9844 for more information.

Poppy Sale
The VFW Post 4961 of Seaford will hold Poppy Sales in front of Wal-Mart on Friday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 9.

Bazaar & Bake Sale
Nanticoke Senior Center is sponsoring their Annual Bazaar and Bake Sale, Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Handmade crafts, yard sale items, and great baked goods. Tables for rent, $5 for members. Help support your Center.

Three Little Bakers
Nanticoke Senior Center is hosting a trip to: Three Little Bakers, “Home for the Holidays,” on Wednesday, Dec. 10. Departure Time is 3 p.m. This heartwarming musical completely captures the holiday spirit! The revue of more than 20 classic songs is set in an old Victorian home where the theatrical family hosts a weekend get-together to celebrate the holidays. Included in the trip: Motorcoach transportation, great meal, fabulous desserts. Cost is $55 members and $65 non-members.

Acorn Club luncheon
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs-Acorn Club of Seaford, Inc. will have a president’s luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 13, at RJ Riverside Restaurant, Laurel, at 11:30 a.m. social, noon luncheon. Entertainment will be The Juggling Hossmans. Teresa Blades is hostess.
Safe driving course
The Seaford High School International Studies Boosters Club will sponsor a safe driving course at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Stein Highway, Seaford on Saturday, Nov. 15, starting at 10 a.m. The course will be presented by the Safety Council of Delaware Valley and cost is $35. Phone 628-7760 to register. Those who complete the course can save 15 percent on their automobile insurance and get a three-point credit on their Delaware driving record.
Seaford parade
The Downtown Seaford Association will be sponsoring the 18th Annual Seaford Christmas Parade, which is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. The theme is called “Christmas on the Nanticoke”. The committee is planning on more than 150 entries. Registration can be made by calling 629-9173 on weekdays. The last day to register is Nov. 26. Each year the parade has been funded by donations from the business, municipal and residential communities. The expenses for the parade including trophies, contribution to bands, costume rentals, candy, printing, postage, etc. All donations are fully used for the parade. Send donations to the Downtown Seaford Association, Inc., P.O. Box 12, Seaford, DE 19973 or drop off at Dick’s Barber Shop on High Street, or the Harley Davidson Shop on U.S. 13, north of Seaford. Fitness Classes
Classes start Monday, Nov. 10, and Tuesday, Nov. 11, at St. John’s United Methodist Fellowship Hall (sponsored by St. John’s but open to the public). Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 9 a.m. (morning only, free quality child-care); and Tuesday and Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. Beginners to intermediate participants welcome in this co-ed, non-competitive, muscle-toning, stretching/hi-lo aerobic class. Poinsettias sale
Again this year the Seaford Lioness Club is selling Poinsettias for the holiday season. The flowers will be in six-inch pots and have 4-5 blooms each. Color varieties available are red, white, pink, and marble (cream colored with red streaks). Also available are Christmas cactuses. The cost is $7 each or two for $13. All money raised goes back into the Seaford community in the form of eyeglasses to needy school children, and various other programs.
