Weekend for married couples
ďA Season to Fall in Love,Ē a marriage encounter weekend, will be hosted by Christ Evangelist Church, Laurel, on Nov. 7 and 8.
Guest speaker will be pastor and author David St. John from Lenexa, Kan.
The weekend will start Friday, Nov. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, activities will go from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m.

Church to host bazaar
Portsville United Methodist Church will hold a bazaar Saturday, Nov. 1, at the church hall, beginning at 8 a.m. The church is 3 miles west of Laurel on Portsville Road and Dogwood Lane.
Featured will be a white elephant table, a country store, and baked goods. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The menu will include oyster fritters, hot dogs, chicken salad, soup, and an assortment of pies.
Church announces raffle winners
Christ United methodist Church in Laurel thanks the community for its support of the annual fall bazaar.
The winner of the quilt raffle was Sharon Hamblin of Seaford. Terri Hurley of Delmar won the basket and M.L. Elliott of Laurel won the throw.
Choir to mark anniversary
Macedonia AME Church, North Street, Seaford, will celebrate its choirís anniversary Saturday, Nov. 1, at 6 p.m. Choirs, singing groups, individuals and praise dance teams are invited to participate. Call 629-3116 for information.
Rescue Team to perform
St. Georgeís Methodist Church will host a gospel concert Sunday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. The guests will be Ellery Adams and The Rescue Team of Preston, Md. There will be a covered dish supper at 6 p.m.
Sandwich sale planned
Church of God of Prophecy, US 13 north of Delmar, will host a sandwich sale on Saturday, Nov. 8, beginning at 9 a.m. Sandwiches include oyster, crab cake, soft crab, chicken salad, cheese steak subs, hamburgers and hot dogs. Soups and baked goods will also be available.
Veteranís Day service set
The Bridgeville Charge United Methodist churches will observe Veteranís Day Sunday, Nov. 9, at Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, Bridgeville, at 10 a.m. For more information, call (302) 629-9799.
Trip planned to Philadelphia
Bridgeville Charge United Methodist churches are planning a trip to Wharton Wesley United Methodist Church in Philadelphia, Pa., on Sunday, Nov. 16. The bus will leave from Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, 28 Church St., Bridgeville, at 7 a.m.
After the morning service, there will be a tour of Mother Bethel AME Church and Tindley Temple in Philadelphia.

Foggie to hold Menís Day
Menís Day will be observed Sunday, Nov. 23, at the C.H. Foggie AME Zion Church in Bridgeville. The Rev. William Dent, pastor of Wallace Temple AME Zion Church in Rhodesdale, Md., will speak at the 11 a.m. service.
The Rev. Lewis N. Watson, pastor of First Baptist Church in Salisbury, will speak at the 3:30 p.m. service. Members of his churchís choir and congregation will also be there.
The step team, Christian Brothers With Step, will perform, as will choirs from St. Johnís Second Baptist Church in Millsboro and Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bridgeville.

Trip will include dinner, show
Harvest Christian Church is sponsoring a bus trip to the Sight and Sound theater for its Christmas show on Dec. 27. Dinner is included at Hershey Farms. A limited amount of tickets are available.

Concord cookbook published
Concord United Methodist Church has published a new cookbook, ďSharing Concordís BestóRecipes from Concordís Generations.Ē The cookbook has more than 340 recipes, from current members as well as from the churchís first cookbook printed in the 1980s.
