Three inducted into hall of fame
Recently, three members of the Delmar Fire Department were inducted into the Eastern Shore Volunteer Firemen's Association hall of fame. They are Robert J. Webster, William Phoebus and William M. LeCates.
Webster began his service on Jan. 20, 1950, with the Delmar Fire Department. He was noted for his kind support to many members by serving as chaplain from 1969 until present.
He also served as president, assistant treasurer, hose foreman and on various committees.
Presently he is assistant chaplain for the Wicomico Firemen's Association. He is a lifetime member.
Phoebus began his service on Sept. 7, 1954. He was noted for his kind support to many members by serving as chief, assistant chief and firefighter. He also served on various committees in the department. He is a lifetime member.
LeCates began his service on July 7, 1950. He was noted for his support in the department as chief engineer, engineer and driver. He served on various committees in support of his company. He also is a lifetime member.
