Christian Illusionist
World famous illusionist Andre Kole will perform at Laurel Wesleyan Church, located on Route 13A, just north of Laurel on Friday, Oct. 17. There will be two performances. The matinee family performance begins at 5 p.m. and the evening performance begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are required for admission with the matinee tickets priced at $4 each and the evening show tickets are $6 each. There will be no nursery available and due to the length of the program, it is not recommended for children under age 6. To purchase tickets you may phone the church at 302-875-5380. Andre Kole has performed in over 78 countries of the world for millions of people. In addition, he has appeared on national television in over 40 countries and has given over 3,500 performances at colleges and universities. He is most famous for his role as a creative consultant for world famous magician David Copperfield and assisted him with the illusion of the disappearing Statue of Liberty that took place on national T.V. a few years ago. This is a “must-see” show as not only will you be intrigued by his illusions, but Andre will be using a magical illustration to share some truths about the spiritual dimension of our lives.
Weekend for married couples
“A Season to Fall in Love,” a marriage encounter weekend, will be hosted by Christ Evangelist Church, Laurel, on Nov. 7 and 8. Guest speaker will be pastor and author David St. John from Lenexa, Kan. The weekend will start Friday, Nov. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, activities will go from from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but reservations are required. Concert to benefit shelter
A concert of Christian music will be Saturday, Oct. 25, 6 p.m. at the Laurel Wesleyan Church, alternate US 13, Laurel. Ten area performers are scheduled to participate. Proceeds will benefit the Hope House in Laurel, a transitional shelter that has assisted 24 families in the last two years. For further infromation, contact Mary Ann Torkelson, 629-5456. The Laurel Lioness Club members are selling chances for “A Weekend in May” at the Atlantis Condominiums in Ocean City, Md. (excludes Springfest and Memorial Day Weekends). The winner will also receive $100 in cash. Tickets are $3 each or 2 for $5. Contact any Lioness member for your chances.
