SHS Open House tonight
The staff at seaford Senior High School invites the public to its open house on Thursday, Oct. 12. This will provide parents an opportunity to learn classroom guidelines and expectations. Dr. Madden will discuss the Middle States process. The program begins at 7 p.m. with parents/guardians reporting to the auditorium.

Acorn Club meets October 12
The Acorn Club of Seaford will meet on Oct. 12 at the Seaford Museum on New Street. The program starts at 7:30 p.m. Seaford Mayor Daniel Short will be the speaker.

Basket Bingo October 18
Bridgeville Fire Hall in Bridgeville will host a Basket Bingo, Oct. 18, 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Call 337-0381 or 337-7429.

AARP meeting October 12
Seaford Chapter 1084 of the American Association of Retired Persons will meet at the Methodist Manor House, Thursday, Oct. 12, at 1:30 p.m. Kenneth McDowell, department of elections, will bring us up-to-date on the voting process.

TRIAD meeting October 12
The Western Sussex County TRIAD will hold its next meeting on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m., at the Nanticoke Senior Center located at 310 Virginia Ave., Seaford. The topic for the next TRIAD meeting will be Crime Prevention Tips and How to Avoid becoming a Victim of a Scam. All members of the community are invited to attend.
NARFE meeting October 16
Monday, Oct. 16, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 1992 will hold a meeting at Grace Methodist Church (basement) in Georgetown at 1 p.m. To join the chapter or for details call Les Martens at 629-9789.

Block Watch October 16
The Olde Seaford Block Watch will meet on Monday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m., at the Seaford Police Station, in the downstairs meeting room. Chief Pounsberry will be attending the meeting to discuss the results of a survey.

Hunter Safety Class
A Hunter Safety class will be held Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 16 and 17, from 5:45-10 p.m., at the VFW Post 7478, Governor's Avenue, Greenwood. Just show up or call 302- 739-3498.

Fred Douglass Parents' Night
Parents' Night at Frederick Douglas School, Oct. 19, 6:30-8 p.m., "Fall Into Learning, Harvest The Benefits." Parent workshops: TERC Math; Relationships & Self- Esteem; Homework, Study Skills and Agenda Books. Door prizes and refreshments will be available. Parents need to RSVP to their child's teacher.
