Church to raffle quilt
The Mary/Martha Circle of the Seaford Presbyterian Church is conducting a raffle of
a queen-sized, hand-pieced, hand-quilted sampler quilt. Money will benefit the

Bake and yard sale set
Blades United Methodist Church will have an indoor bake and yard sale Saturday,
Oct. 14, at the Blades Community Hall on West 4th Street. The sale starts at 7 a.m.
Line Church to sell food
Line Church, Whitesville, will hold a breakfast, lunch and bake sale on Saturday,
Oct. 14, from 7 a.m. till 2 p.m. Food will include oysters, chicken salad, homemade
ice cream and soups.
Church to present drama
The Seaford Church of the Nazarene will perform "The Challenge of the Cross," a
musical written by members of the Nazarene church that describes the challenge of
being a Christian. The play will be presented on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in
the sanctuary of the Church of the Nazarene located at 520 S. Dual Highway. For

Church to host bake sale
Shiloh Community Church will hold a yard and bake sale Saturday, Oct. 14, beginning
at 7 a.m. (rain date is Oct. 21). Clothing, household and miscellaneous items will
be available. The church is on Shiloh Church Road (off Delaware 24), Laurel.
Bishop will be celebrant
The Right Rev. Wayne Wright, bishop of the Episcopal Church, Diocese of Delaware,
will be celebrant at the 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist at St. Luke's, Seaford, on Sunday,
Oct. 15. Wright will confirm Stephanie, Michael and Kristen Cunningham, Justin and
Steven Larsen, Ryan Lee and Johnny Thompson.
The Rev. Jeanne W. Kirby, rector of St. Luke's, will assist. Immediately following
the 10 a.m. service, parishioners will gather in the parish house for the annual
stewardship kickoff program and covered dish luncheon. Kate Widdowson, program
chairman for stewardship and vestry member, will direct the meeting. The vestry
will meet with Bishop Wright at 9 a.m.
Chapel homecoming set
Chaplain's Chapel, near Bridgeville, will hold its homecoming service on Sunday,
Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Janet Rounsley will be speaker. Music and dinner will
follow the service.
Eldorado homecoming set
Eldorado United Methodist Church will hold its homecoming service on Sunday, Oct. 15,
at 2:30 p.m. There will be special singing and speakers.
Church to host luncheon
Bethel Church Community, Oak Grove, Seaford, will host a soup/sandwich luncheon
including baked goods Saturday, Oct. 21, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Carry-outs will be
available. The church is on Oak Grove Road west of Seaford.
Bethany to hold buffet
A fried chicken buffet will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, at Bethany Church-Lowes
Crossroads near Millsboro. Cost for adults is $7.50 and for children, $3. Carryouts
cost $7.50. Serving will be from 2 till 6 p.m.
St. Stephen's to host dinner
An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be Saturday, Oct. 21, 4 to 7 p.m., at St.
Stephen's United Methodist Church, Camelot Hall, Delmar. Admission for adults is $6
and for children ages 6-12, $3. Children under 6 are admitted free.
Mt. Zion to host festival
Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Laurel-Seaford Highway, will host a festival on
Saturday, Oct. 21. Food available will be oysters sandwiches and platters, chicken
salad, hamburgers and hot dogs, homemade ice cream, cakes and pies. Serving starts at
3 p.m. Carry-outs will be available.
Trinity grand opening set
Trinity Methodist Church on Phillips Hill Road, Laurel, is having a grand opening
of the new multipurpose building on Oct. 22.
The program begins at 2 p.m. with music from local musicians, greetings from past
ministers and skits. It concludes at 5 p.m. with dinner in the community house. For

Mt. Olivet to host dinner
The women of Mt. Olivet Church are serving their annual roast beef dinner on
Friday, Oct. 27, in fellowship hall, 315 High St., Seaford. Hours are 5 to 7 p.m.
Dinner is served family style. Take-outs are available.
Admission for adults is $7.50 and for students, $3.50. Children 5 and under are
admitted free. The hall is accessible to the handicapped.
