society to open museum
The Bridgeville Historic Society will have its museum and Davis farmhouse
open Saturday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in conjunction with
Bridgeville's Apple-Scrapple Festival
Visitors to the museum, housed in the old fire house, will see new
carpet, spotlights shining into the showcases and a new tin molded
ceiling installed by members Don and Keith Kirby.
Docents will be Don Kirby, Keith Kirby, Phyllis Jones, Helen Beckert
and John Shockley.
highlight this year will be an encampment of Civil War reanactors
of a Confederate detachment from a Maryland unit. They will be camped
in the historical society's park on Delaware Avenue.
