Women’s Day services set
The Ladies of Clarence Street Church of God will celebrate their annual Women’s Day Sunday, Oct. 6, with services at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Elizabeth Jenkins from the Clarence Street church will speak in the morning. The evening speaker will be the Rev. Brenda Anderson, pastor of Victory of Praise Church of God in Washington, D.C. Music will be provided by the church’s Women’s Day Choir and Booker Street Church of God Choir and its Creative Expression Team. Dinner will be served after the 5 p.m. service.
The church’s annual yard and baked goods sale is Saturday, Oct. 5, 7 a.m. to noon.
Asbury plans homecoming
Asbury United Methodist Church, Hardscrabble, will have a homecoming service Sunday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. A dinner will follow the service. Asbury Church was founded in 1812. The church has worship service each Sunday morning at 9:15.
Homecoming set at Mt. Pisgah
Mt. Pisgah A.M.C. Church, Laurel, will hold its homecoming service Sunday, Oct. 6, 11 a.m. The speaker will be evangelist Sandra Copes. A dinner will be served following the service.
Forever Moon to perform
Christian recording artists Forever Moon will perform in an outdoor concert Saturday, Oct. 12, 7 to10 p.m. at Centenary Church, Laurel, in celebration of the 200th birthday of the church and the town. The concert is free and open to students in the seventh through the 12th grades.
Forever Moon is a Baltimore-based rock band formed in April 1999. The band has performed with several national and regional acts and in 2001 released its first album, “Forever Moon,” which was recorded with the help of Grammy-nominated band Smalltown Poets.

Church to celebrate 100 years
Christ Church will observe its 100th anniversary as a Methodist congregation Sunday, Oct. 13. The day will begin at 9 a.m. with a gathering of former Methodist Youth Fellowship members at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Dan E. Walker, hosted by Terri Beauchamp and Nancy Walker.
The morning worship featuring the Rev. Jack Cohen, son of the Rev. Connie Cohen, will start at 11 a.m. Music will be provided by the senior choir and others.
The women of the church will host a luncheon in the fellowship hall. Pictures and other items of historical interest will be on display in the chapel meeting area.
Chapel plans homecoming
A homecoming service will be held at Chaplain’s Chapel, near Bridgeville, Sunday, Oct. 13, 2 p.m. The Rev. Mike Hurley will be speaker. Dinner will follow.
Gospel group to perform
The Ole Time Gospel Singers will perform Sunday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. at Providence Church Homecoming, Shortly Road, Georgetown.

Church plans fall festival
Church of God of Prophecy, U.S. 13 N., Delmar will hold a fall festival Saturday, Oct. 12, beginning at 9 a.m. featuring oyster sandwiches, crab cakes, soft crabs, cheese steak subs, chicken salad sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, soups, chili, homemade ice cream, baked goods and a yard sale. Grace to hold family nights
Grace Baptist Church at the corner of Atlanta Road and Fleetwood Drive in Seaford is starting a family activities night beginning Wednesday, Oct. 16. GBC Fun Family Bible Activities Night will get under way each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Families will try activities based on biblical principals. The sessions will also focus on topics that will strengthen families.

Christ UMC Bazaar planned
Christ UMC, Laurel, will hold a fall bazaar Friday, Oct. 11. A craft show will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and lunch featuring chicken salad and ham sandwiches, homemade soup and pies will be served beginning at 11 a.m. A handcrafted cedar lined chest made by church member Bruce Farrelly and quilt-dust-ruffle pillow-sham set will be given away during a drawing that will follow the spaghetti dinner served from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information call the church office, 875-4233.
