Parks and Rec Basket Bingo
Seaford Parks and Recreation basket bingo, featuring Longenberger baskets, a 50/50 raffle and door prizes, Tuesday, Oct.19, at 7 p.m. Cost is $20 per ticket and can be purchased by calling 629-6809. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the VFW on Middleford Road, Seaford. All proceeds benefit the Seaford youth football and cheerleading programs. For more information call 629-6809.

SVFD Auxiliary Basket Bingo
Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department to hold a Longaberger Basket Bingo, Thursday, Oct. 7, 7 p.m., at Seaford Volunteer Fire Hall, corner of King and Cannon streets, Seaford. Defensive Driving Class
AARP driver safety course for people 50 and over, on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 6 and 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Methodist Manor House, 1001 Middleford Road, Seaford. The two-day program, sponsored by the American Association for Retired Persons, stresses how older drivers may operate vehicles safely. Upon completion of the program, participants receive a certificate entitling them to a reduction in their auto insurance. A 15 percent reduction is given to anyone repeating the program within three years. Call 629-8081. The cost is $10 per person.

Elks Children’s Party
The Seaford Elks Lodge 2458 will have its annual children’s Halloween Party at the Elks Lodge on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. The Lodge is located on Elks Road, north of Seaford. There will be prizes for costumes - most original, funniest, and scariest. Games will be played, with refreshments served at the conclusion of the party. Seaford High Class of 1964
Seaford High School Class of 1964 40-year reunion will be Oct. 9, Seaford Fire Hall, 6 p.m. The classes of 1963 and 1965 are also invited. Tickets are $19 per person and include a sit-down dinner and entertainment. Call 629-8806 or 629-6837.

VFW Bingo Starts Oct. 10
Bingo at Seaford VFW 4961, second Sunday of each month. This month will be Oct. 10. Doors open at 5:15 p.m., games start at 7 p.m
St. John’s House Tour

Monday, Oct. 4 — Speaker: Barksdale Maynard, 7 p.m., the Methodist Manor House. As an architectural historian at the University of Delaware, he will give an illustrated lecture on historic buildings in Delaware.

Tuesday, Oct. 19 — Speaker: Michael Morgan, 7 p.m., the Methodist Manor House. As a historian and writer, he will speak about the use of slaves and indentured servants in the early years in Sussex County.

Stay & Play at Parks & Rec
The “Parents As Teachers” (PAT) Stay & Play — Parents and children (birth to age three) are invited to play together, listen to a story, learn new songs and finger plays, and network with other families.
